Especially with its new designers, SSD, by far is the best shop for versatility and even prices.
-----
Agreed.

Anonymous said...

To each her own I guess, I can't really find anything at SSD that tickles my fancy. The best place to shop is the one that caters to your particular style :)

Well, I personally don't have one particular style. I scrap all different kinds of pics and that's why the versatility of SSD is important to me. Obviously, this is a personal opinion and, of course, the best place to shop is subjective. I kinda thought that was a given and didn't need to be included in a post. :)

why doesn't she go to a different store?
this sucks, she would fit right in at TLP
sorry Tracie you won't get my biz at SO

Anonymous said...

I used to shop a lot at TLP, but not anymore... I think they kind of lose their touch. I don't know. Maybe MY style has changed & it has nothing to do with them.

Anonymous said...

Ok. Scrapbooking has officially hit a new low. Scrapping pages about having "hemmoroids". What next? I have officially seen it all now.

Just wow. I have no words. That is certainly a strange bunch of layouts this poster has, between violent sports, satanic bands, and personal body issues that should be kept private. SMH.

Anonymous said...

A scrapbooker making pages about books, movies, bands and spectator sports that she enjoys, and a few family memories thrown in too - what's wrong with that??

Anonymous said...

A scrapbooker making pages about books, movies, bands and spectator sports that she enjoys, and a few family memories thrown in too - what's wrong with that??
***************************
well cause she isn't making everyone happy with her extracted scenes that most of the time look like shit. Or maybe it's because she didn't use the spaced out shadowing that is way over used by the foreign gals. Oh wait she didn't put all 15 of her kids on the layout, maybe that's it. Tomorrow it's contraceptives and fornicating.

Anonymous said...

That's exactly my point. What's next? Contraceptives and fornicating is not far off. People can scrap what they want I guess but I find it offensive. I'm entitled to my opinion. Stuff like that should not be posted in online galleries. Period.

Anonymous said...

So instead of little kids playing soccer she created a page about MMA fighting, big deal. Another of her pages was from a Black Sabbath concert.....again big deal. While the topics may not be something I am into (Black Sabbath does have good songs, but I am more of an Aerosmith kind of girl) who is to say they are wrong? They are HER pages, depicting what she wants likes or wants to remember.

Anonymous said...

Black Sabbath is not a 'satanic' band. smh

Anonymous said...

Well it is to me. I was raised the proper way, not born in a ditch. Oh well people have been saying I'm too much of a prude but I'm happy to have morals. A rare thing in this day and age and now I have to see things I'm strongly opposed to leaking into my once fun hobby. Might be time to avoid the galleries altogether these days.

Anonymous said...

Well it is to me. I was raised the proper way, not born in a ditch

------------

I am maybe a ditch but my cousin is not my husband. You say you have morals ? I say you don't. To have moral is to know between right and wrong. Where is it written that to listen to Black Sabbath is not having morals. You must be one of those stupid bitches who think that homosexuality is a transmitted disease but let your kid play with a gun.

Anonymous said...

Poor Lloyd. I bet he didn't want that advertised all over the internet. That does show a lack of good judgment and respect for others' privacy.

Anonymous said...

My morals tell me not to put down someone else's scrapbooking. And they tell me not to call other people ditch people just because they have different tastes than I do.

Anonymous said...

I'm not sure why anyone is even going back and forth on "ditch people". I've never even heard of that as a saying and what does where you are born have to do with your morals?

You all argue about weird stuff.

And I agree with 24. That page wasn't about her hemorrhoids. That is inconsiderate.

Anonymous said...

Wow you people will just bitch about anything won't you? Good Lord, peoples' own personal layouts are now fodder for smack, not just designers and stores. Anyhow, big announcement at Deviantscrap, some big changes coming for Sept 1st. Anyone have the goods on what it is?

Anonymous said...

Not only will some bitch about anything, there's one who professes to have been raised with morals; it's unfortunate she was born with no measureable
I.q.

Anonymous said...

27, you must be new here. Layout smack is not new.

Anonymous said...

My guess is the one commenting about 'good' morals and people being born in ditches also claims to be a 'good' Christian. You know, those who claim to love all and follow the good book as long as you conform to what they think us correct.

Anonymous said...

^^ this, now the whole "satanic" comments make sense :) What happened to "love thy neighbour"?

Anonymous said...

I think the ditch/moral commenter was just a troll and you all fell for it.

Anonymous said...

Yes you are 100% right. I was the poster and am definitely a troll. Gotcha!!!!!! (some of you anyway)

Anonymous said...

You must be one of those stupid bitches who think that homosexuality is a transmitted disease but let your kid play with a gun.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

AMEN to that!

Anonymous said...

Lilypad has 27 designers and one "guest" if it wasnt for Just Jaimee they would have only one page of new releases! Wow

Anonymous said...

Anyone get the skinny about what is going down at Deviant Scrap?

Anonymous said...

Even P&Co is looking bare this week. Not many new stuff. I guess it's the back-to-school thing? Designers are busy with real life maybe.

Anonymous said...

36. shrug. it's just maintenance. it says it on their website.

Anonymous said...

Black Sabbath? Satanic? Try Icelandic death metal for an education. Her pages looked quite interesting and personable to me. As for the hemorrhoids, did you read the funny little family anecdote? Or were you too busy clutching those pearls? Try anal beads next time, more fun.

Anonymous said...

LOL # 39.
@ # 38 - they had a message on their website a few days ago saying they'd be closed for maintenance and to look for something big coming for Sept 1st ... some big changes?

Anonymous said...

40, It's the usual hype. It's probably just a facelift for the site. Nothing is really that big when it comes to digital scrapbooking but the site owners will string you along making the smallest thing seem revolutionary.

Anonymous said...

I followed the link, read the journaling, and then read what the poster said about why she did that layout. Personally, I think it's hilarious. It was clearly done in humor and love towards her family. From the sound of her brother, I don't think that he was too damaged by layout. He probably thought it was funny too. It's not like there was a picture of his A$$ or anything.

It bothers me way less than the layout some lady did about her family digging a hole in the yard to plant the placenta. There was a nasty photo of it. YUCK. I can't remember where it was, but it was in one of the galleries a year or 2 ago.

As for what we are talking about, I don't love her style of scrapping. I'm more a traditional paper/template girl, but she is creative and has some layouts about things she digs. More power to her.

Anonymous said...

The only thing "to get" is that your an idiot and, alas, I got that!!!!!
--------

It's *you're.

Anonymous said...

Poor Lloyd. I bet he didn't want that advertised all over the internet. That does show a lack of good judgment and respect for others' privacy.
------

From the sounds of Lloyd, he would find it funny. Don't put your narrow attitude onto other people.

Anonymous said...

We don't know how Lloyd feels. That poster's attitude isn't any narrower than your assumption that he finds it funny.

Anonymous said...

We do know how Lloyd would feel. The person who made the LO clearly states that her brother is quite the joker. No assumption required.

Anonymous said...

If layouts about Lloyd and the hemorrhoids that he got at a "satanic" Black Sabbath concert are all we have to discuss then digital scrapbooking must really be dead right now.

Anonymous said...

So disappointed with SO's Summer Rewind sale. Had a bunch of things loaded in the cart, then realized they're not doing the "free with purchases" that were originally available during the new release week. All past Summer Rewinds had the "buy this, get that" available too. Boo. I will not be checking that cart out.

Anonymous said...

50, then why did you have to ask if you had no doubt?

Anonymous said...

I wasn't asking, just in disbelief. Not that it matters.

Anonymous said...

Don't you just hate it when you buy a paper pack for top dollars and unzip it to find they are all the same paper just different colors. Because of the way they are arranged in the preview the customer thinks they are different papers!

Yes. It's lazy on the designer's part to do that. It's not that hard to alter things a bit so that each paper is unique.

Anonymous said...

#59 - I've been burnt like that a few times so if I can't see the whole of the paper, or most of it, I don't buy it. It's one of the times I do appreciate CT layouts.

Anonymous said...

I'm 59. I won't be buying from that designer again. I feel it's almost deceitful the way different slices were taken from the one paper and arranged on the preview to look like different papers. Different colors obviously.

Anonymous said...

^^^

I know a designer or two who had to used be really good at that, I wonder if it's one of them. It would be nice to have a name.

Anonymous said...

Anonymous said...

The Scrap Nerds is apparently closing by the end of the week. That didn't last long!

Anonymous said...

People still use AOL?

#65 - not the OP, but I can imagine a preview like that. If you take a slice out of each paper and then arrange them so they don't run together in pattern order, you'd see different patterns.

Anonymous said...

Where'd you get that info, 67?

Anonymous said...

I found a lot that I liked. I picked up the subscriber's deals for Stolen Moments and Forever Joy, and I think I'll pick up a couple of odds and ends from some others. I think it's a really versatile color scheme this time.

Anonymous said...

--------

There's no art journaling in the BYOC.

Anonymous said...

I like Sahlin Studio's BYOC, but she has the word "dont" several times without the apostrophe. I couldn't use those pieces like that. I'd have to try to work in an apostrophe. It kinda turns me off of the product. I could probably overlook one word-art mistake like that, but the same mistake in all three places??

Anonymous said...

I liked One Little Bird and ForeverJoy BYOC

Anonymous said...

There have been a few kits I've seen over the last few years with the word "spaz" in, (and other adjectives before it - "total", "utter", "omg you" etc) which is offensive in the UK and Europe (it refers to someone with Down's Syndrome, or someone who is mentally retarded). I avoid these as they're inappropriate IMHO.

Anonymous said...

I don't think "spaz" is generally used that way in the US. When I've heard people use it, it means something like "clumsy," perhaps a bit teasing, but not in an overly negative way.

Anonymous said...

For the first time ever, I don't like any bit of the BYOC at the lilypad.
___________
This is a common occurrence for me. However, now that Forever Joy is guesting there, I can at least find something I can actually use. Sometimes I find stuff at TLP that I like but I know I'll never use it. They're my last resort if I'm looking for something specific because there's a 99.9% chance they won't have it.

Anonymous said...

Cornelia Designs is back and she will do kits. I wonder if she will start doing piracy again. That's why she stopped making kits to do templates only the last time.

Anonymous said...

"Spaz" in the UK and elsewhere is the equivalent of "retard", neither are acceptable.

Anonymous said...

Which is for, once you know that. As someone already said, that's not the usage in the States, so to a designer from here, it's not offensive.

Anonymous said...

^^^^

Too bad they are selling to an international market

Anonymous said...

I think if you just let the designer know, they will probably change it. I can't imagine anyone is trying to be offensive, or is aware of what words are slurs in other cultures.

Anonymous said...

Spaz is the shortened form of spastic. Spastic was the original term given to those with cerebral palsy, describing their inability to control muscle movement. The Spastic Society in the UK was rebranded as Scope because of the negative association of the word spastic being used as a derogatory term.

It never really incorporated Down's Syndrome because there was a word for that on its own - mongol, (from the original description of Down's Syndrome as mongolism) often shortened to mong to refer to those with any mental deficiency.

Anonymous said...

In the US it is often used instead of crazy. So to spaz out is to act all crazy. It's not exactly a compliment here but everyone can't be expected to know that it's offensive in another culture. If you contact the designer and nicely explain, that would let her know and then she can decide how she wants to handle that information.

Anonymous said...

Quick! Someone let Anne Sexton know that spaz is derogatory. Yes, the US is not the center of the world. But spaz went out of style as being derogatory back in the 60's.

It takes Urban Dictionary to state that it's derogatory, and I prefer not to get my definitions from there.

If it really bugs you, let the designer know.

Anonymous said...

Yes, the US is not the center of the world.
__
It may not be the center of the world, however, the U.S. by FAR generates the most money for the digital scrapbook industry.

Anonymous said...

No one is saying that the US is the centre of the world ... where did you get that? Someone was just trying to point out that in US culture, the word is not offensive, so how would someone know it is offensive to someone in the UK? If you feel that strongly about it by all means let the designer know, I'm sure she'd be happy to take out the pieces if it offends someone. I live in Canada and the word spaz is not offensive to us here either, and I would have no way of knowing it would offend someone else.

Anonymous said...

Oh and I should add that 89 is right, the US absolutely generates the most sales for the industry, I'd say 85% or more of my sales come from US customers.

Anonymous said...

Anonymous said...

wow. scrapnerds is a mess. no products. no answers. poor designers, I hope they find a new home.

Anonymous said...

I'm so sick of everything having to be politically correct in every nation in the world If you don't like the word, don't use it. It's not offensive to everybody in the world. Yes, the USA generates most of my sales also--I'd say probably 90%.

Anonymous said...

A customer asked about the store on the Scrap Nerds Facebook page. This was their response: "Yes, unfortunately, Katie has decided to close the shop. The staff is very disappointed."

The build-up to the store opening lasted longer than the actual store itself.

Anonymous said...

Sometimes people thing they can just open a store and the money will just start rolling in. Unfortunately, it takes time, business sense, and a good product to make any money in the digital world. Obviously lacking in some stores.

Anonymous said...

97-that is one ugly store. They needed a make-over years ago.

Anonymous said...

#69 - friend of a friend, however looking at their store today is completely devoid of products.

Anonymous said...

#98 - agreed!

Anonymous said...

I am stunned at how unprofessional the owner/manager of Scrap Nerds has been throughout. The consistent delays to opening, demands placed on designers, and then letting the rumour mill just go and go and go. The fact that they told the designers the store was closing by 7th September, and the site (though empty and in a total mess) is still there, is pretty bad too - could they not have organised an announcement on their front page, perhaps? There seems to have been little consistency, little thought and virtually no respect of the customer base or the designers for all of it's short-lived and undeserved hype followed by it's even shorter life.

Anonymous said...

101 - The owner had decided to close the store because of the customers. She said that she got tired of the whining and complaints of them. She has no respect for them and had no respect for the designers.

Anonymous said...

Wow. That's pretty bad.

Anonymous said...

How long was it even open?

Anonymous said...

Any store is only as good as its owner and the team who help run it. If your team is professional it will reflect in the store and how it is viewed by customers and members. I've worked (and still do) in admin and customer service and no matter what, the customer is always right. Some days it might not feel that way, but this attitude will always pay dividends in the long run. It takes a long while to build up a reputation for a well run and respected site. If it is true that the owner was publicly whining about her customers, I think then that she got what she deserved.........a short life site!!

Anonymous said...

105 again.
I forgot to say.......the designers certainly did NOT get what they deserved. They must feel very angry and/or disappointed!!

Anonymous said...

#101: None of it surprises me.

Anonymous said...

Did Scrap Orchard ever announce the new Honey Bees from their CT call? I don't remember ever seeing anything, and it's been a month since the call ended.

Anonymous said...

Someone has to know. How does Katie Pertiet churn out so much product every week?
-------------

She doesn't come up with original ideas. It's easy then.

Anonymous said...

Question about original ideas - so I've been a scrapper for a very long time. Thought I'd try my hand at designing and came up with a few kits and applied at a couple of stores. One store replied and asked me to send some samples in, so I did. They've since replied back and said no thanks (which is fine, I was glad at least for the reply). Anyway one of the kits I sent in I thought I came up with some pretty original ideas and was happy how it turned out. Not earth-shattering, just something I hadn't seen in any kits before. So a couple of weeks later, I'm looking at the new releases in the store that I applied to, and one of the designers came out with the exact same idea that I had in my sample kit. I am stunned. My designs weren't good enough to be accepted (maybe they're not, I'm not disagreeing) but to see my theme and original elements used just gutted me.

Anonymous said...

So I guess my question is - what should I do? They obviously used my ideas and that is pretty low.

Anonymous said...

Welcome to digital scrapbooking. I'm just a scrapper and see my original layouts made into templates all the time. Nothing you can do.

Anonymous said...

Yup, totally agree, nothing you can do. I have also suspected my layouts of being copied by so called "original" template designers. SMH. Unless you want to call them out publically there is really not much you can do. Even then, what does that accomplish.

Anonymous said...

Well, if it's in fact true, I, as a customer, would not buy from the designer or the store in question, no matter who they are or where it is. I detest behavior like that. It's flat dishonest and underhanded. The template thing would probably be harder to pin down. One sees similar layouts in galleries often and the scrapper(s) allegedly used no template. Unless it's an outlandishly original layout, how would you know? However, the kit idea and original elements are easy to isolate. I'd make it known if I was the victim of something like that.

Anonymous said...

137 - Is that the only store that bothered to reply to you? Sorry, that stinks. But unless you're ready to out them, nothing you can do. I wouldn't suggest doing it even though I'm more than curious.

Anonymous said...

Welcome to digital scrapbooking
-------

Not exclusive to digital scrapbooking, this kind of crap happens all the time in every industry.

Anonymous said...

Digifiles??? Should we buy this month?

Anonymous said...

142 - yes, it was the only store that replied. Not sure if I should out them yet, I've emailed the store admin to see what they have to say. I'm really disappointed, because this is a store I shop at regularly, and from the designer as well.

Anonymous said...

Tiffany Tillman uses Kickbutt Digiscrap and Nettio uses KickAss Scrapbooking. A little of the same?

Anonymous said...

#145 - out them! inquiring minds want to know, so we can smack them!! horrible behavior. i hope it was a coincidence and not blatant thievery. if it was thievery, they deserve to be outted and smacked. smacked hard. :)

Anonymous said...

I heard back from the store owner about the items that were that same as in my kit. She apologized, and admitted that they do allow current designers to look at applicants and provide an opinion. She says she has removed that product from the store, although she didn't feel it was an exact ripoff. Oh well, I guess that will suffice. Seems odd that she would remove the product if she didn't feel there was some kind of wrong doing.

Anonymous said...

^^^^

She apologized and removed the product, neither of which she had to do, and for you, that will only 'suffice', what more do you want? Blood?

___________
I agree. What the hell else is the owner supposed to do? Offer you a spot? She was being honest when she said she didn't believe the items were the same. Better buck up or stop designing. Just like in all other aspects of life, people disagree all.the.time. At least this person listened to your complaint and did something about it.

Seems odd that she would remove the product if she didn't feel there was some kind of wrong doing.
_____
Sounds like she was providing smart customer service since you have stated you do shop there often. Your business and any you might lose for them thru word of mouth complaints are more important than some items from a kit.

You sound like you came right off the set of Deliverance. While the rest of us are "getting a job and paying some bills" maybe you should take a basic English punctuation and grammar class. I also suggest you get some counseling to aide you in dealing with the obvious interbreeding that has transpired within your family. Good luck to you

LOL!!!!

Yah get a life you bunch of hags! don't you have anything better to do? Lowlife pieces of shite you all are. Get a job, pay some bills, then you won't have time for this waste of a page.

-------

Yeah, it's a shame we are the same sad little fuck that you are but you should be happy that you now at least have company.

I'll have you know you're all a bunch of gossipy cows who have nothing better to do. Get a job!!!!! I hope this place dies out soon, all you heifers like to smack people anon, keyboard warriors. I got smacked on this pos blog before which is how I found out about its existence. Glad to see it's dying a slow death. You self righteous bitches.

I hear the faint sound of "Dueling Banjos" in the background! LOL!!! For someone who hates this blog, you certainly check in frequently to see what's happening! You poor thing. You got smacked on this blog and now you're all self-righteous (yes, you're the self righteous one--another term you need to look up) and are bound and determined to revel in its demise. Has it crossed your pea brain that if YOU don't post, others won't be able to respond, therefore lessening posts. By YOUR idiotic posting, you are actually contributing to the blog's survival. Oh, and aren't you posting anonymously as well? If you're such a different kind of person, why don't you come clean and be honest about who YOU are instead of bashing everyone for doing the same thing? I could toy with you forever but I'm really bored now. Bye bye.

He sounds like that boy designer, whatshisname? Same crappy English.

I do have a job. Unlike you, my posts do not take me all day to type, nor does it take me all day to read a few paragraphs. I'm sorry that you aren't equally gifted.

No, not in the least. The person posting is clearly a native English speaker even though they appear to be having some trouble writing it.

Anonymous said...

Some trouble? He or she sounds like an illiterate idiot.

Anonymous said...

Good newer designers? I know there is a whole slew of bad ones... I'd like to try out some fresh meat.

Anonymous said...

If you know the bad ones then you should know the good ones if you've been around much. There aren't that many stores left and that's where the designers are. Who I might think is great you might dislike. I'm afraid you'll have to go to the stores and look around for yourself.

Anonymous said...

I hear crickets...

Anonymous said...

Are people not interested any more, or is there another blog I don't know about?

Anonymous said...

I think it's a case of people aren't interested anymore.

Anonymous said...

I vote for not interested.

Anonymous said...

Not interested and people are also gearing up for DSD next week.

Anonymous said...

It's been quiet for a while now, I doubt anyone has been gearing up for DSD for that long but maybe some have.

Anonymous said...

If you aren't a fan of just one store but still enjoy chatting and sharing layouts, where do you hang out? I can't share my layouts in most store galleries because I mix my kits, templates, supplies, etc. I used to hang out at DST but it's DEAD and boring. Is it only stores these days? I can't bring myself to scrap by kit only. I'm not on any CTs for this reason. I want to use what I want to use and hang out with people that enjoy scrapping!

Anonymous said...

#181: Find a Facebook group. They're usually welcoming and don't require you to use only one store's products.

Anonymous said...

#181: Check out Get It Scrapped? I believe they have an open gallery. But they aren't just digi scrappers.

Anonymous said...

Disappointed with DST and MSA, neither one has a special section set up for DSD like they used to. I guess forums are just dying in general? No one seems to post much anymore. I miss the hubub in the lead up to DSD, that used to be fun.

Anonymous said...

^^^

Do you mean forums in digi scrapping or everywhere? If everywhere, nope, not one little bit.

Anonymous said...

Yes, digi scrapping specifically. I used to hang out at DST for years and they were always very active around dsd time. Now, not even a mention. Wondering why it doesn't just close up if the owners of the site can't be bothered.

Anonymous said...

^^^ yeah, I hear you. Well how about we discuss here? Who's got the best deals out there this DSD? I'll start it off with Vinnie Pearce's sale at SBG, can't beat 70% off ... I am deciding what to buy now. I'm a sucker for really big deals like this. Anyone else got some really deep discounts out there for me to check out?

Anonymous said...

Everything at SNP is 50% off.

Anonymous said...

Yes, you can beat 70% off considering that her "collections", which are really just kits, are normally priced $16-25. That's just crazy. And then it's an "up to" 70%. It doesn't seem like a great deal to me. She's the same price as everyone else's 35% off. Go for it, if you like her stuff. Just don't kid yourself about the "great deal."

What is SNP?

Anonymous said...

I love grab bags and free-with-purchases, so that's what I usually go for. SO, TLP, SSD all have FWP kits this weekend, and I think p&co will change out theirs tomorrow.

Anyone want to talk about the parade?

Anonymous said...

I love the Build Your Own Grab Bag deals. I might do the Little Butterfly Wings ... I'm hoping more of those might show up tomorrow.

I was a little underwhelmed with the parade, didn't really like the softer colors, but I still think many of the pieces are very nice.

Anonymous said...

P&Co have a lot of the build your own grab bags. But I think I'll get a better deal using the sale. Mommyish and Anita have an awesome deal on a grab bag. I think it is one of the best deals out there right now.

I also have stuff in my carts at SO and TLP. I'm considering some stuff at Ginger Scraps but I'm not sure since they are new-to-me designers. And I'm waiting for more sales to roll out at SBG.

Anonymous said...

I'm not 187 but I love Vinnie's stuff and grabbed her Beloved collection for only $3.30. That's a steal imo since as you mentioned her stuff is a bit more on the expensive side. But very happy over all, will also be shopping Viva Artistry's 50% off tomorrow. Thanks 191, I didn't notice the deal for LBW, I'm absolutely doing to participate in that one, I have a bunch of her stuff on my wish list. Remember the days where there were so many grab bags we had to have a reveal blog? :)

Anonymous said...

Some of VP's stuff is 81% off right now. Her sale doesn't start until tomorrow. Is she raising her prices for DSD?

Her pricing is so weird and random to begin with. How about lowering the base price so she doesn't have to have 80% off?

Anonymous said...

Starts tomorrow GMT time, they're quite a bit ahead of us in the US, so actually the sale will be ending earlier too for those of us based on EST. Yah, her stuff has always been pricey but I really love it so it buy it anyway, so for me it's a good sale.

What is SNP?

Anonymous said...

I remember when the grab bag contents were hidden, and I never liked that part. I was excited when I found the reveal blog. Today, most designers seem to reveal the grab bag themselves. I think customers like that.

Anonymous said...

I don't know what it is either. Huh. Anyways I think I'll be picking up a few things from Ginger Scraps too since they have 50% off.

Anonymous said...

probably isn't worth checking out since only one poster knows the answer.

Anonymous said...

SNP = Scraps N Pieces

Anonymous said...

197 - I agree, it has to be revealed in order for me to purchase. Especially when I only have so much to spend it will certainly not be on anything I can't see ahead of time.

Anonymous said...

I haven't seen an unrevealed grab bag in probably 5 YEARS. Why are we discussing this? Everyone reveals in the store.

Although I don't know why they even bother with the peak preview and don't just call it a bundle with a great price. But whatever... There's usually a deal inside.

I don't know about others, but it's hard for me to buy Christmas kits when it's still pretty warm outside. SSD's new releases are so wintery!

Anonymous said...

They're just following retail trends to release after Halloween.

Have you been to Hobby Lobby or Michaels? They had Christmas in stock in September.

Anonymous said...

2 - my bad, I saw the gb's @ Pixels&Co and thought they were unrevealed. Upon closer inspection, it's a make your own. lol .... I thought they were making a comeback.

Anonymous said...

Kind of disappointed that TLP and SSD only have 30% off. For one of the biggest scrapping weekends of the year that seems a little low imo. I'm going to be spending my money elsewhere, there are quite a few better sales out there.

Anonymous said...

GingerScraps has some great stuff this year! I actually like the buffet this time. I'm surprised because I usually find a couple things from them and now I'm going over budget! They have good prices too which is a big factor for me this year.

Some are and some aren't. I, personally, look for prices and what I need to scrap. I have umpteen Christmas photos from years past, as I'm sure others do, and sales of those kits are useful to me.

Scraps N Pieces, fyi, has a GREAT template blog hop. The templates, except for one (imo) are great! I'm telling you guys because I found out by accident about it and if you're like me, the idea of 20ish free templates is very cool!
