My point is that 8 times out of 10, it's not your artwork - it's CU you bought and recolored. And here I'm using a generic 'your' as I don't have any idea who you are. You might be one of the 2% out there that actually do make our own graphics.
#2 I wouldn't wait in a longer line for a gushy person. Maybe a better packer or faster scanner. But I always opt to self-scan whenever possible and choose stores more often that give me that option. No one packs my groceries the way I do and that is worth FAR more than platitudes.
111--I'm 110 and I mentioned about the ct's requiring comments in the galleries. You then mentioned that you were talking about store CT's. I belong to two store CT's currently, and have NO gallery comment requirements at either of them. In the past I've been at two other stores--also with NO requirement for posting gallery comments. If we posted gallery comments it was because we wanted to do that.
#6 - That only furthers her point. If a designer purchases a license to use a product commercially it is with the stipulation that she can then pass the license of personal use to the customer. Either way, the customer is still purchasing the license to use the product. So if credits are required. Then credit the designer, otherwise find a designer that doesn't require them.
It's a business transaction, yes, but you're forgetting what kind of transaction it is. It's a license to use under the terms set by the creator (recolorist, designer, etc) of the files.

There are only 9 new releases at SM this week but all of them are what they call "Twice as Nice" products (collabs of two designers or more). The collab between KimB and Jennifer Labre is really nice, IMO.

Someone here has a real hard-on for Jennifer Labre. Most of her kits have horrible colors and majority of her CT pages are hideous as well - at least the ones I see in her gallery at Oscraps. I assume those are CT pages. Her style is all over the place (kid looking doodles in one and elegant flowers in others?). The colors are what I can't get past. Very beginner looking and she's been a designer for awhile if I remember correctly.
If Scrap Orchard really took her on, they are beyond desperate and I question Kami's business sense (which I can usually respect even if I think SO is bitchy and snobbish). I agree Bella Gypsy is a better fit and they put out better and more frequent product than Jennifer Labre - and I don't even like Bella Gypsy.

I would consider just a post on FB to be "quietly retiring" vs an all out advertising blitz with ads every where and newsletters and whatnot. You must need something to complain about.
Well Leigh alerted several designers via her FB post about Pam and PDP, and we've all spoke together about it, and we checked, we don't have access to the back end of the store anymore, a couple of us aren't listed on the designer list anymore, but our products are shown in store and able to purchase, there are new CT layouts using some of the kits, and not one of us is getting a reply from Pam about our product still being listed. I've reported her to her site host, and of course, they say they will look into it, apparently these places are unclear on what digital product is!
I'm 126 and 131, and I don't have a lot of experience with Leigh personally, I've only known her a few months through the digi world, but I'm not very happy with how she presents herself to the public. She comes across as nice and sweet, but she is rather two-faced! As for piracy, I'm not familiar with her products enough to know what belongs to someone else.

#183- I never had an issue with TDC's forum. I did have an issue with Nicole insulting scrappers who don't scrap to her standards. You may have taken it a different way than I did and that's fine.

Lena is active in forums and seems fun to be around. Her sister isn't, but I think Lena takes care of most of the public face of the team anyway. I don't see Jennifer Labre fitting in there as well, but there's nothing wrong with her designs from what I've seen, it's just not my style personally.
I agree, the princess kits were awful this week. Misty's rainbow templates are actually really neat, they're just packaged horribly.
Completely agree. Didn't get the concept of Misty's templates until I looked at the CT layouts and then I thought they were cool. She didn't do herself any favors by not shadowing them so you could see they are layering templates just by looking at the preview.
Also agree about the hideous pukey colors in Meg's kits. Holy over-saturated. And adding to the ugly puke colors are Libby with that braces kit and whatever the fugly crap is that Jenn Barrette released. I like the theme of Traci's Looking Glass kit, but again hate the colors.
The only kit I really liked this week was Zoe and Kristin's collab. But I still didn't buy it, since I have a gazillion kits that I haven't used as it is.

I have a few of their kits as well and I wish I didn't. They are beyond ordinary and the quality is questionable. I remember Lena from years ago at DST when all she did was go on and on about her health issues with way too much information.

I could see they were layering templates from the preview, what the heck else could they be? It was pretty obvious, although I agree that the preview is appalling.
I posted the original comment about Misty's templates. Obviously, they're templates-it says so right in the product name. My point was that the product preview is so hideous that I didn't even bother looking at the item and the CT layouts. It was beyond lazy of her to package them like that. How you present your product *does* make a difference. I don't care how good your CT is, if your product is packaged so horribly that no one ever makes it to the CT layouts, what's the point?
Yes-and had it come from a VALID member of the SSD community it might make a little more sense. It is obvious troll like in origin-trying to slam a community as a whole. I have no problem not putting my LOs in galleries.
I scrap for me and my loved ones. Comments or Kudos mean less than nothing.

Hardly. They are as sleazy as they come. Robin is fine with piracy and copyright infringement when its her and her friends doing it.
That zacola/shannon chick was part of a HUGE filesharing group a few years ago, and Robin and all her thieving designers are well aware of that.

I still don't think it looks like her. I see huge differences from the pics she posted of herself a few years ago. I get that losing weight changes things about someone's appearance (like facial contours or shape, cheekbones now showing, but not things like your eyes, your lips, your nose.
I never made any kind of judgment or value call on her looks.

Yeah, seems is the operative word, isn't it? Considering how many designers and sites are out there and how few of them are mentioned here, I'd say there are probably quite a few nice sites and designers. Want to know which ones? The ones that aren't mentioned here. Process of elimination my dear.
I would guess the new SO designer is Bella Gypsy.
Considering they are closing all their other stores, they must be going someplace that requires designers to be exclusive. I haven't seen any of the other exclusive stores announce that someone new was opening, so SO must be where they are going.

9 new releases from SM this week? I thought this month they were having a reunion with former designers? Their store should be hopping with new products this month. Wonder what is up with that and why the lack of new releases.

There are only 9 new releases at SM this week but all of them are what they call "Twice as Nice" products (collabs of two designers or more). The collab between KimB and Jennifer Labre is really nice, IMO.

I know of three designers besides myself who have not been able to get into contact with her over our products not being removed. It's not right the CT has access as well as customers, but we can't get in there.

Someone here has a real hard-on for Jennifer Labre. Most of her kits have horrible colors and majority of her CT pages are hideous as well - at least the ones I see in her gallery at Oscraps. I assume those are CT pages. Her style is all over the place (kid looking doodles in one and elegant flowers in others?). The colors are what I can't get past. Very beginner looking and she's been a designer for awhile if I remember correctly.
If Scrap Orchard really took her on, they are beyond desperate and I question Kami's business sense (which I can usually respect even if I think SO is bitchy and snobbish). I agree Bella Gypsy is a better fit and they put out better and more frequent product than Jennifer Labre - and I don't even like Bella Gypsy.

Well Leigh alerted several designers via her FB post about Pam and PDP, and we've all spoke together about it, and we checked, we don't have access to the back end of the store anymore, a couple of us aren't listed on the designer list anymore, but our products are shown in store and able to purchase, there are new CT layouts using some of the kits, and not one of us is getting a reply from Pam about our product still being listed. I've reported her to her site host, and of course, they say they will look into it, apparently these places are unclear on what digital product is!
I'm 126 and 131, and I don't have a lot of experience with Leigh personally, I've only known her a few months through the digi world, but I'm not very happy with how she presents herself to the public. She comes across as nice and sweet, but she is rather two-faced! As for piracy, I'm not familiar with her products enough to know what belongs to someone else.
Ive never even heard of Leigh or who she is as a designer. Never heard of Pam either.

#183- I never had an issue with TDC's forum. I did have an issue with Nicole insulting scrappers who don't scrap to her standards. You may have taken it a different way than I did and that's fine.
If Bella Gypsy is going to ScrapOrchard, I hardly think that makes SO desperate. I've only bought a couple of their kits, but they were well done and very scrapable. Lena is active in forums and seems fun to be around. Her sister isn't, but I think Lena takes care of most of the public face of the team anyway. I don't see Jennifer Labre fitting in there as well, but there's nothing wrong with her designs from what I've seen, it's just not my style personally.

Completely agree. Didn't get the concept of Misty's templates until I looked at the CT layouts and then I thought they were cool. She didn't do herself any favors by not shadowing them so you could see they are layering templates just by looking at the preview.
Also agree about the hideous pukey colors in Meg's kits. Holy over-saturated. And adding to the ugly puke colors are Libby with that braces kit and whatever the fugly crap is that Jenn Barrette released. I like the theme of Traci's Looking Glass kit, but again hate the colors.
The only kit I really liked this week was Zoe and Kristin's collab. But I still didn't buy it, since I have a gazillion kits that I haven't used as it is.

I have a few of their kits as well and I wish I didn't. They are beyond ordinary and the quality is questionable. I remember Lena from years ago at DST when all she did was go on and on about her health issues with way too much information.

My point was that the product preview is so hideous that I didn't even bother looking at the item and the CT layouts.
