Scrapping With Liz http://i39.tinypic.com/6fnvpy.jpg
I personally am not a fan of any of them. Waste of money this month. And why is Angie Kovacs in this? Her products are so...blah....A newbie can make them
The Digi Files this month are very average. The only things I like are the weeds and wildflowers journal cards and Scrapping with Liz templates. I think I'm going to return to old habits. Buy a month subscription only when I see all the digi files and like at least half of them.
I kind of like the digi files this month. I'm downloading right now. There is one kit I probably won't use. Well, there are probably many of them I won't use just because I don't have time come to think of it!
I breast fed all four of my children. I did it it in private. Usually with a blanket covering my baby and my private parts--unless I was home. I see nothing wrong with breastfeeding a baby in public and being discrete. There is no way in this world that I would have posted a layout with me nursing my baby. There is no way in this world I would have posted a photo of my boob--baby attached or not on the internet. Just isn't going to happen. I may have taken photos of the event when it happened, but if I did, they were for me and my child, not for the internet crowd.

I'm all for breastfeeding. As long as you show some class and act discreet. There's no reason to go flashing your boobs-and especially your really icky nipples-all over the place. It's beyond ridiculous to plaster pictures like that all over the interwebs.
Both discreet and discrete derive from the same Latin word discretus, “separated, distinct.” Old French discret meant “discreet, sensible, intelligent, wise.” In the 17th century, the spelling discreet became attached to the sense of “careful” or “prudent.” The spelling discrete, used in such disciplines as philosophy, medicine, and music, retained the original Latin meaning of “separated.”
Examples of the incorrect uses of discreet and discrete:
… but if this brief and discrete affair ever really happened it was never in the public eye…
I just arrived in Dubai and was wondering if anyone knows of a discrete internet cafe, ideally with private rooms…
I’ve always thought about breaking down ICs back to their discreet components

I may have taken photos of the event when it happened, but if I did, they were for me and my child, not for the internet crowd. -- Okay, well, obviously there are people who disagree with you. If you don't want to look at her pics, don't look. I wouldn't post those pics of me either, however, it takes a whole helluva lot more than that to offend me. I just don't see why it's that big of deal.
Those LOs were just a cheap gambit for attention. -- I doubt it seriously but if that was in fact her motive, she's accomplished it as far as you're concerned anyway.
so huge, hairy nipple pictures are commonplace in other countries? -- I think HUGE and HAIRY are bit of an exaggeration, don't you? Yes, in other countries it is not as taboo as it is here.
There's HAIR on her nipples? -- Someone (who claims she doesn't like looking at them) must have gotten a magnifying glass out to see hair because I sure don't see any. Maybe, she DOES enjoy looking!
And that's one of the risks you run when you post pictures of your nekkid bewbies online. You never know what kind of freaks are looking-or how closely.
OK blog ladies - your opinion - when a store wide BYOC thingy releases, is it 'yay' or 'nay' to designers who add their own colors to the palette or really play with the levels so that it looks like a different color?
To me it's a big 'nay' because it means the packs don't actually match anymore. What the point of doing a choose your own with parts that don't go together?
In my store there is absolutely no emphasis put on this and it drives me nuts. When you see a store collab preview go up and there's all these soft colors and someone has done 3 or 4 papers with the saturation kicked way up - it doesn't look creative, it looks like someone was an asshole.
I'll always remember when I was starting out getting some critique on that ... I wish all designers would realize that collabs are meant to match, so even if you don't love the colors, if you are participating, you need to make yours match.
Some brightness and saturation variance makes for an interesting kit, but you don't add colors (except for neutrals if needed, and even then you would make sure you all use the same neutral) And never EVER change the hue on a color from the swatch.
(I should add I know the original questions was about BYOC, but those function on the same principal - they are collabs ... as are blog trains and FB hops, etc)
I agree. BYOC and FB hops need to stick to the pallete or I am almost guaranteed not to buy it. Sometimes I might be cool with one or two new colors, as long as there is enough of the comon pallete.
I'll bet money all you boob smackers are American. ----- There is no way in this world that I would have posted a layout with me nursing my baby. Here's why it's a big deal, since you asked. If those layouts had just been done for her own purposes and posted in the gallery, then no problem. I wouldn't do it, but why can't she? It's up to her.
But, those layouts were done to meet CT requirements. She posted those layouts on behalf of a designer. Someone who gave her the kit for free in exchange for images that could be used for marketing. This makes her layouts pointless and ridiculous, and, yes, offensive and controversial.
It has nothing to do with whether you're pro-breastfeeding or anti-breastfeeding (I happen to be pro). It has to do with: companies wouldn't use those images to advertise actual breastfeeding products, for godsake. So why does she expect a digi designer to do so? It's selfish and idiotic.
#32 Couldn't the designer request that she take them down? I would think that any designer worth there salt would be upset that this is being used to promote there products. I'm pro breastfeeding and I know both my boys would be horrified if I showed them pics of them breastfeeding with my boobs hanging out. (they are now in there 20's )Now way they want to see Mums boobs. EVER
Yes to #32! I agree wholeheartedly. They're lovely photos, making for good memories of breastfeeding for the mother to look back on, but not very appropriate for marketing purposes for CT layouts (perhaps if the CT member used an element for the sake of modesty in her online upload - not necessarily in her original, this whole conversation wouldn't be even taking place?)
Here's why it's a big deal, since you asked. If those layouts had just been done for her own purposes and posted in the gallery, then no problem. I wouldn't do it, but why can't she? It's up to her.

This makes her layouts pointless and ridiculous, and, yes, offensive and controversial. -- Actually, I see your point on this where I didn't before. I guess for ct purposes, it is way out of line since it's going to obviously be offensive to some. If I were the designer I would take them down pronto.
Other than the first one with the baby actually feeding, the other pictures are just of her boobs and nipples and the baby just happens to be there. Doesn't seem like being focused on the bonding or the baby just on her own boobs.
Not appropriate for a "family forum" or anywhere else really. I'm fully disgusted that Robin hasn't taken these down yet Call me a prude if you want. I don't want to see exposed boobs and nipples when I go looking through a gallery
Hello #39 This is a Smack Blog, the very purpose of it is to have something to bitch about. The pictures are inappropriate. You need to get over yourself. Don't come here if you can't handle the Smack.
Well, American or not, that scrapper can rest assured that perverts (American or not) are masturbating to her breastfeeding scrapbook pages. Believe it or not, not everything you do needs to be posted about online.
Some things aren't about where you're from. Class and dignity are the same in every culture.
I'm starting a new business adventure, I wanna produce traditional Scrapbook Papers. I know that many designers don't allow the use of their overlays and textures for commercial paper scrapbooking and craft industry.
I'm looking for vintage overlays, cardstocks, textures and patterns that may be used for a large distribution of printed papers.
I really hope you could help me in some way. PLEASE ENABLE ME!!!!
-------- Hello ? Why don't you create your own texture ? Oh yeah that's right ! Because your CU are such of poor quality you prefer to take others.
There are breastfeeding pages, and then there are breastfeeding pages. I think the issue is not scrapping and posting pages about breastfeeding, it is how she portrayed those, especially for a CT page. Here is a page that I have absolutely no issues with: http://www.digishoptalk.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=526741&title=breastfeeding&cat=500
YES 44 if you want to portray it that is exactly an appropriate way to do it. The whole problem wasn't about the breastfeeding, it was about the boob having to be in the picture when the baby WASN'T breastfeeding. The baby is adorable, the boob as big as the babies head, not so much.
and she is totally topless. Not a stitch of clothing on her upper body and thank goodness the pics don't show her lower body! How much breastfeeding is done that way?
and she is totally topless. Not a stitch of clothing on her upper body ------------------ Not sure how you have determined this. ?? Maybe I just didn't look close enough. The huge boob and saucer sized nipple jutting out and dominating the pictures was enough to make me back out quickly.
Her pics were OTT. They shouldn't be in a public gallery. And they DEFINITELY shouldn't be CT layouts.
I didn't think it was possible, but my opinion of SSD and their cliquey CTs just sank lower.
no bra strap or any kind of strap over the shoulder. Bare skin under the breasts and under the arms. Maybe there's a new kid of top that only has a back.
Re: Digi files – I like the ones you don't. I like Cilenia, I adore Viva, I think Quirky Twerp does fun stuff, and have no interest in templates or cards.
I do not care about the breast pics. I am curious, though: how do you know they were for CT pages? ------------ The pages were in the sneak peek thread (before the releases were out) -- that's where the CT & Babes put their layouts for upcoming releases.
not to mention that gross boob lady's signature says that she CTs for Nicole/SugarplumPaperie. All the kits were Nicole's. And like people have already said, the LOs were posted on Friday on the Sneak Peeks thread-the day before the kits were released for sale in the store.
Why am I not surprised that designers have assholes like this for CTs
This is just something for people to bitch about. You/we are not the CT police. Sorry y'all- no matter what you think about a persons skills or photos you don't have the power to decide if/who they should ct for.
By all means- this is a smack blog. But this is not the police. You/we don't get to decide and shouldn't really care whether or not a ct is doing their job and whether or not it was wrong and what the designer should do. Whatever.
I'm all for smacking SSD and SP normally. But this is just BS
It's not BS. Would it be BS if we were smacking someone scrapping and posting nude photos of their kids or themselves? I don't think so. I think these photos cross the line. We smack all kinds of layouts for various reasons less controversial than this.
I breastfed my kids. I'm pro-breastfeeding. I even support breastfeeding in public. That said, I don't think it's appropriate for someone (even breastfeeding) to just leave their breast out there for everyone to see once the baby is done for everyone to gape at.
Scrapping and posting the pictures of your exposed breasts is much the same. The layout "the best pillow" could have easily been taken with her top ON and her breast covered.
This girl clearly just wants to show off her own tits. How is it any different than when someone complains about a designer or ct posting a bunch of 'sexy' pictures of themselves in their feed?
That's bitch worthy but being exposed to someone else's nipples isn't? SSD is supposed to be a family oriented forum. Now I have to make sure no one is around before I go looking in case there might be nipple exposure.
I don't want my 13 year old boy peeking behind me and seeing something I don't want him to see.
Of course, that would be ONE way to get him into digiscrapping!
Wow. It's apparently a short jump from exposed nipple related to breast feeding (that by the way the US laws and FCC do not deem indecent) to naked children here in crazy town.
Hop on everyone. Crazy train coming through. Chooooo choooooo
Make up your minds. Either the nipple is so huge and ugly you are repulsed. Or It's sexy and you need to lock up your husbands and sons for fear of awakening their sexual being. One or the other ladies. Can't have it both ways.
While I agree that the LO was inappropriate for a public forum, and *especially* as a CT layout, I think it's reaching to say that she's trying to show off her tits. Those are most definitely not tits to be proud of.
I breastfed my kids. I'm pro-breastfeeding. I even support breastfeeding in public. That said, I don't think it's appropriate for someone (even breastfeeding) to just leave their breast out there for everyone to see once the baby is done for everyone to gape at.
^^^ If a baby is nursing, finishes eating, and comes off the breast, and you are gaping at it, the problem is yours - not the mom who is more focused n taking care of her baby that your bizarre repressed sexuality.
You make it sounds like breasts are for feeding *only until the baby is done* at which point, they must be hidden away as quickly as possible because they instantly transform into sexual objects again.

No, what people are saying is if you're going to bare your breasts, do it in private.
She can make whatever kind of boob-plastered layouts she wants-she just doesn't need to be posting them in public galleries, and all over CT sneak-peek threads.
65: no, it can be both ways because you are talking about different people. Some men like ugly nipples. I may not like them but a man might. (Have you met a man to who would NOT look at a nipple? I haven't.) So yes, it can be both ways: *I* don't like it but *a man* does. Just like one person might like mustard but another doesn't. Good job showing us a propositional fallacy. (Affirming a disjunct, yo. All that college learning has finally paid off.)
But that isn't the point here. The point is, the focus of the photos in the LOs is NOT on the baby/breastfeeding experience. The focus is on her breast/nipple. If she had asked her husband or a friend to take a photo of her baby as the baby rested in her arms, then the perspective and composition would be completely different: we'd see the baby sleeping and we'd see the mom staring lovingly at the baby. But we probably wouldn't see nipple (we'd probably see no more of her breast than if she were wearing a tank top or a bathing suit). And even if we did see the breast/nipple, the distance provided by the 8' removal from her breast (instead of the 4 inches, apparently) would make the breast's "appearance" in the photos less jarring.
I don't care that she has her breast and nipple on display. I don't care what they look like because I'm not on DS galleries to judge breasts. But I do care that she calls that a photo of her breastfeeding or a photo of her baby napping. It's a photo of her nipple. I took pics of my son as he fell asleep nursing: you can't see my nipple--actually, you can hardly see my breast because I moved him on top of my boob (as if it were a pillow). Anyway, my point is that she could have made the photos more gallery appropriate without compromising her LO's theme. And then it would have been a more appropriate photo to post online...where anyone can see it and anyone can screen-grab it and post on porn sites. (Did you hear about the mom who agreed to let a documentary company film her breastfeeding her child for a lactation video? She sold the rights to her and her baby's image and that footage ended up in a porno. That's disgusting.)
not the mom who is more focused n taking care of her baby that your bizarre repressed sexuality. ---- Please..this is the dumbest post on the subject and there's stiff competition!
This was posted this A.M on Tanyia's FB page (shes the one that leave ct's on week then the next gets on four more. How long do you think this one is going to last.
This went out to all my designers this morning,
I am sending a note to all my designers, so I apologize for the form letter style of this, but I would have to type this out way too much! lol
I am completely leaving CTing and am resigning from all of my teams. I will be around here and there scrapping and doing my PL stuff, but I just can not do the commitments anymore. I need to step back and do things outside of scrapping that are more important in my and my kids' lives right now. I do hope you understand, especially the couple of designers I am new to working with, I am so very sorry to have you take me on only to quit on you. This is just something I truly need to do for myself and my family. Thank you for understanding.
Tanyia
I am channeling Patti Brown McCarthy ♥ I dont want any designer to think it was them or something I am just done all around. I will scrap for me when I feel like it now and stick with PL in the mean time.
My question is wtf is wrong w/the designers who continuously select her to be on their ct's? First of all, she ain't that great and, secondly, she has a history of doing this from what some of you say. She's obviously a flake but what are the designer's excuses? I'd see that she did this once and she'd never get another chance. There's too many talented people out there; why keep feeding into her drama by choosing her just so she can subsequently quit?
98 - Posting here isn't to make Tanyia care. It's to talk smack about something.
I knew she wouldn't stick around long. I don't feel even slightly bad for designers who take her on. CTing is part of their business and they picking these unreliable idiots.
You can't tell me Zoe didn't have reliable, decent scrappers apply that she didn't take. I know of several who applied who were denied and it's crazy when you see who these designers actually bring on. They get what they ask for.
#102- Zoe isn't exactly reliable herself. She has issues answering emails from customers and is flakey herself. I do get your point 100%. Designers knew what her CT history was and they still took her on.
I hope she stays where she is. I like having all the designers I love to avoid in one place. -- Who besides Traci do you like to avoid? Just curious as she's the real standout for ANNOYING to me.
#105- Jenn Barrette and Krystal Hartley. They like to motorboat each other on Facebook. It gets annoying real quick. - I'm real, real glad I'm not subjected to that since I like both of them as designers.
I'm looking for some new designers to try in a couple of styles.
1. clean modern graphic style (ie Paislee Press)
2. Vintage inspired, slightly shabby but not too distressed (ie. Katie Pertiet)
3. Some recent kits I've liked have been by Megan Turnridge, Scrapyrus (Papyrus kit), & Sahlin Studio.
4. I like nice papers, subtle textures, kits that have a "paper" feel, pretty color combinations.
I am **NOT** interested in: - heavily distressed/grunged papers, papers with folds or wrinkles, anything too "themish", loud color combos, doodling, primitive elements that look childish, wordart (ie. laugh), anything too kid themed (unless it can be used for other stuff).
I know this is a LONG wishlist, lol, but I thought I'd take a chance & see if anyone could recommend some designers for me to check out?
I guess what I'm looking for are kits that are more subtle & refined looking.
Thank you in advance to anyone who takes time to offer any suggestions!!! :)
So, what happened?? Just saw this on facebook from Valentina Crea [Update] It seems that my new shops at Mscraps and Scraflower will be closed before to be born. I wanna thank all those friend designers who accepted my friendship and my job at mscraps till now and, to those who worked against me.. :))) I wish you all the best! - Closed a door.. we'll open a doorway! LOL
Why do designers frequently make it a big mystery when they're moving? It just seems silly and lots of times I've noticed they keep it from their ct's til the last minute. Do they do it to bring attention to themselves thinking they'll sell more? If they don't want to say where why say anything at all? I'm so confused (and irritated) by it all!
#115 For a paper feel kit and papers try Shabby Miss Jenn. She also has great prices.
For clean modern graphic style you should definately check out Digital Design Essentials. She always has coupons on facebook and great prices for the kits she makes.
I just checked out the nursing layouts and I think they are precious. I wish I had photos of my 2 when they were babies nursing. That said, I would NOT post them online.
On most of the teams I've been on, the designer tells the CTs where she (he) is going to open, and when she (he) is going to open. The designer usually has new product for us to work with before the grand opening. I guess there are some designers that won't share that information with the CTM for fear the information will end up here before she (he) wants it to be public.
I think it's poor taste to say WHERE you're moving to at your old store. Just bad form. But as someone mentioned- that doesn't necessarily make it a secret lol. Read the blog and FB of those designers
I just checked out the nursing layouts and I think they are precious. I wish I had photos of my 2 when they were babies nursing. That said, I would NOT post them online. ___ I don't think they're particularly good nursing pics.
#115 For a paper feel kit and papers try Shabby Miss Jenn. She also has great prices. ---- Shabby Miss Jenn is okay if you like loads and loads and loads of re-colored elements.
Oh joy, did you see Ms. Charly has another CT call out. You'd think by now she'd realize between her split personality, multiple lies, and crappy designs, she'd figure out why no one is rushing to apply as her CT.
I'm loving this thread at SM which shows the designers' first kits. I'm not sure if that proves that the "designers" contributing ugly kits to blog trains will grow one day into professionals, but there's hope, isn't there.
IDK 138 I think the elements are, for the most part, alright...I think it may have a lot more to do with the previewing than the kits themselves. Having said that, hers is not a style I usually would scrap with. I have never bought any of her kits so I have no idea as to the quality, but IMO it is mostly a preview problem.
I wish someone would tell Victoria Feemster at SM to include some more neutrals in her kits. All of her pastel papers and elements look horrible on her sample pages. They seem washed out and call for some graph or kraft papers. I think she has promise but needs some direction.
As for Wimpychompers, she needs some guidance. Her ribbons do not look realistic at all and are poorly colored. Her kit previews are poor and do not showcase her products well, and many of her elements look flat.
So I decided to look at Wimpy Chompers and I don't think I have ever really looked at their products.
http://shop.scrapmatters.com/candy-attack.html One this kit it doesn't even look like it was shadowed really and it looks so basic. Really I have designed for a few years and am in a a mid tier store and can design a lot better than that!
http://shop.scrapmatters.com/always-be-you.html This one it looks like the elements are all shifted to the left of the preview and it isn't balanced. There is a big gap on the right. Wonder if I can get on there at SM if they have kits like this in their store!
I just found an amazing kit which I can relate to 100%. It's creative, unique and with great colors. Shopaholic!! By Sugary Fancy. I totally need this kit. Sugary Fancy is a designer which surprises me positevly every week with her designs.
And before anyone comments that I'm Sugary Fancy, I'm not. I'm a customer that made a comment last month about being sick and tired of the same themes over and over again. I like to acknowledge good and creative designs when I find them. I'm a huge shopaholic so I really loved this kit.
144 - She's been there for quite awhile so maybe that's why Amber puts up with it. The designers that she's been bringing on recently - K Studio, Jen Reed, River Rose, Snips and Snails are all good designers. I guess 142 has an issue with Victoria who was recent too, I can see her point, not nearly as talented as some of the others but better than Wimpychompers for sure!
^^^ And that thread reminds me why I will never, ever, ever, shop at Scrap Matters. Amber continues to have Kate, the pirate previous-owner of Digital Candy, on her creative team, and since Amber now owns the store, Kate is on the store CT. That's absolutely vile. If I were a designer I would never sell there either.
Regarding the Sugary Fancy kit, it's really not as special or wonderful as you make it seem. First off, I can find that theme in almost every digi store out there. So, no points on originality, as far as I'm concerned. The color palette is hideous, and in fact, a good percentage of the kit is out of gamut, especially that neon pink. The doodles are sloppy and I know it's a personal preference thing, but I really hate that "intentionally messy" look. In addition, I see at least one font used in the kit which I know to be very expensive to buy for commercial purposes. I'd question whether she spent the money to allow her commercial use of the font. She might have, but I doubt it.
Bottom line, this is a smack blog. It's not really smart to bring up someone you like because it opens them up to criticism when they might otherwise be ignored or left alone.
Bottom line, this is a smack blog. It's not really smart to bring up someone you like because it opens them up to criticism when they might otherwise be ignored or left alone. --- You're absolutely right and it works both ways. It's comical to me that one of your "criticisms" of the designer is that you "question" whether she bought a font(s) for commercial use. Really? That's the best you can come up with to criticize someone? You must be a rip roarin' good time irl.
I have to say... I'm really disappointed in the way OSD is turning out now. There are almost no kits realeased anymore and now they are taking on Katie Creates as a guest designer... I used to shop there back before the big crash but haven't bought anything at all since then. A pity!
No, 150. The font was not the "best I could come up with." In fact, it was last on my list of criticisms! You might need to brush up on your reading comprehension.
149 - How do you know the kit is out of gamut - did you download it? I'm not trying to be rude - I'm actually curious. I know from experience that when you flatten previews they sometimes go out of gamut even if every single piece is in gamut. So unless you downloaded the kit I don't see how you could know that for sure.
#149 I dare you to point out to me other kits with shopping & sales themes. Because you make them sound so ordinary..and I need proof, I don't believe you. I browse and shop at many stores, the top tier ones and I haven't seen that theme anywhere. The closest kit I have with money and shopping is a kit made again by Sugary Fancy a while ago. I loved the color pallette. To each their own I guess..
#155 She doesn't. She just needed to make a bad critism about the kit. There are people that try to see good wherever they look and people that search for negative stuff and are very happy to point them out whenever they have a chance. Unfortunately you can't change that.
I have to say... I'm really disappointed in the way OSD is turning out now. There are almost no kits realeased anymore and now they are taking on Katie Creates as a guest designer... I used to shop there back before the big crash but haven't bought anything at all since then. A pity! --------- Who the hell is Katie Creates and how do you know she is a guest there? She isn't listed in the store at all.
I've purchased a few things from new to me designers at OSD since the re opening and I have been pleasantly surprised. I think they are being smart and not filling their store with any designer that applies the way that DHD did.
151 what's so wrong with katie creates? And why does everyone keep smacking her? I bought a few kits from her the other day during ginger scraps $1 bake sale and i'm very pleased with what I got. The kits I bought had no quality issues that I saw. I just dont get the smacking of her.
to 115 I second 3 Paper Peonies- Sahlins prices are a bit over the top sometimes- so I usually hold off until sales.. check out Forever Joy Designs I have become a groupie of hers since the Basics collections came out
Guess KH has been reading the blog --- No kidding. I think she protests too much. If she's in fact that secure she doesn't need to take a paragraph on a scrapbook forum to prove it.
OMG. Could she be any more pretentious? --- No, but she's trying to prove something mainly to her self, I think. I kinda feel sorry for her after reading that. It's obvious she's REALLY insecure.
I wonder what sociology textbook she copied that from? - Exactly. She definitely got it from somewhere because people just don't shoot the breeze like that. She, for sure, doesn't.
@ 156 I have Big Spender by Heather Roselli and Retail Therapy by Captivated visions. I also found these: http://store.gingerscraps.net/Check-Out-Collab.html http://store.gingerscraps.net/Super-Sale-Kit.html http://shop.scrapbookgraphics.com/Shop-Til-You-Drop.html http://www.scraps-n-pieces.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=66_104&products_id=2040&zenid=649280c74110390b2e103e0c2eb73f6d#.UbJ4CvnwlnM
#175 Thanks for taking the time to show me a few kits but... the Gingerscrap kits are hideous. Captivated Visions and Heather Roselli's kits are retired, I can't find them. The only one I liked is Blagovesta's but I still find Sugary Fancy's kit to be the best one out there with this theme.
Oh my God, would you shut up already? We already know you like that kit, and someone else doesn't like it for the reasons y'all both stated. The horse is dead, no need to keep kicking it!
Though, since I'm here I might as well mention I like Aprilisa's kit way more than both the Blagovesta and Sugary Fancy kits. I think we're just seeing a difference in personal tastes, and that is really okay. Not everyone has to like the same things.
#178 OMG Stop being a smartass and pay attention to what was writen. I dared her to find good kits with a shopping theme. Go read #145 #149 and #156 again.
Aprillisa's kit is ok and I would buy it if it cost $1. By the way.. nobody asked your opinion. Now I know how these stores manage to stay open. There are lots of people out there with bad taste.
Regarding the DSA 'Group Therapy' - it's not that much, really. It's not full kits, just bits and pieces. Doesn't seem that bad. Might be tough if you're in multiple stores, though.
'I'm also bothered by trends to illustrate positive character development like winning a competition or striving to be more beautiful as politically incorrect. Wanting to be the best version of yourself should be something that we encourage rather than marginalize or even vilify. '
I'm not going to comment there but really ... there is a different between trying to be the best version of yourself and trying to be the BEST BEST BEST that everyone agrees is the best and better than everyone else and omygod so beautiful I can't stop posting photos of myself!
Feeling more beautiful has nothing to do with posting a ton of selfies on Facebook for everyone to look at and comment about how beautiful you are. That's insecurity looking for validation. True beauty comes from how you feel about yourself - not how others see you.
I find it disturbing that people look to someone like Krystal to feel better about themselves. It's like the blind leading the blind.
Again - you do remember that this takes place on her PERSONAL facebook page, right? Who gives a shit what she posts there? If you don't like, delete yourself. I really don't see what the hang up is. Just sayin' ...
I have never seen her FB page. Just looking at her profile pic at SSD tells me what I need to know. ---- I've never seen it either. I'm just basing my opinion on what I've seen at SSD. Her profile pics consistently look like she's REALLY trying to be sensuous..on a mostly all women..scrapbook forum..She seems to be very insecure AND really, really tries very hard to prove that's not the case.
^^^#187 and I bet you can tell exactly what type of person anyone is just by one single photo. Give me a break, talk about being judgmental. I can tell just from that comment you are a complete moron. (LOL)
Re KH - She's a good looking women, she is not dressed provocatively, just looks like a professional photo shoot picture. I would quite happily use it if I looked that great. Only ugly (inside & out ) would harp on about her looks. Look to yourselves re insecurities. And no Im not a sugerbabe nor do I purchase her kits, not my style.

You're so defensive and preachy, you forgot to use your brain and actually comprehend what's been written. The next time I want to hear a sermon, I'll find one myself, thanks.
178-I agree! Everybody has their own tastes--that is exactly why I shop where I shop, and don't shop the other so called cool places. That is exactly why I ct for the designers I work with. I love them.
I hate it when a designer requires a certain number of layouts per month, but then doesn't release product regularly. 4-5 layouts per month required, but you can only be bothered to design a template pack and a small kit.
Why am I putting in more time promoting your business than you are? Layouts, comments, blog posts on top of all that.

I personally am not a fan of any of them. Waste of money this month. And why is Angie Kovacs in this? Her products are so...blah....A newbie can make them
Careful, you might trigger another blog post form the Digi Files asking you to not ruin their fun.
I'm so over the Instagram scrapping stuff. If it wasn't bad enough we have to see Project Life cards everywhere, now we get these, too.
2 - Thanks. You saved me $5 this month I can spend on something that isn't complete crap. Wow. This month is the worst I've seen in a long time.
I don't get Angie, either. Those colors are something a newbie would pick, but she's been a "designer" for a long time.
The Digi Files this month are very average.
The only things I like are the weeds and wildflowers journal cards and Scrapping with Liz templates.
I think I'm going to return to old habits. Buy a month subscription only when I see all the digi files and like at least half of them.
scrap stacks seems alright this month.

I am very pleased w/this month's Scrap Stacks. The fonts alone are worth five bucks.
I'll bet money all you boob smackers are American.

I'm American and I was thinking the exact same thing!
so huge, hairy nipple pictures are commonplace in other countries?

Exactly.
Same here 12.
Mommyish and Just Jaimee are lesbian lovers. I swear. They do EVERYTHING together.
Have no idea who mommyish and justjaimee are.
I'm all for breastfeeding. As long as you show some class and act discreet. There's no reason to go flashing your boobs-and especially your really icky nipples-all over the place. It's beyond ridiculous to plaster pictures like that all over the interwebs.
Those LOs were just a cheap gambit for attention.
This months Scrap Stacks (4 pieces) are better than Digi Files (7 pieces)for $5.00
not a fan of either one :(

Okay, well, obviously there are people who disagree with you. If you don't want to look at her pics, don't look. I wouldn't post those pics of me either, however, it takes a whole helluva lot more than that to offend me. I just don't see why it's that big of deal.
Those LOs were just a cheap gambit for attention.
--
I doubt it seriously but if that was in fact her motive, she's accomplished it as far as you're concerned anyway.
so huge, hairy nipple pictures are commonplace in other countries?
--
I think HUGE and HAIRY are bit of an exaggeration, don't you? Yes, in other countries it is not as taboo as it is here.
There's HAIR on her nipples?
--
Someone (who claims she doesn't like looking at them) must have gotten a magnifying glass out to see hair because I sure don't see any.
It's a nay in my book too. It's something I noticed in recent blog/facebook hops as well.
Another nay. The whole point of a BYOC is that you can mix and match. If some asshat changes up the color scheme, then it just doesn't work.

Hear hear, 32!
ITA

Actually, I see your point on this where I didn't before.
It seems like you all just want something to bitch about. Get over the boob thing...
From Valentina Crea FB
Hello my friends,
I'm starting a new business adventure, I wanna produce traditional Scrapbook Papers.
--------
Hello ? Why don't you create your own texture ? Oh yeah that's right ! Because your CU are such of poor quality you prefer to take others.
32 nailed it.
This whole situation just goes to show what assholes inhabit SSD.
Not a stitch of clothing on her upper body
------------------
Not sure how you have determined this.
Maybe there's a new kid of top that only has a back.
that's on The Best Pillow. Tired Baby has some fabric on the top of a breast that could be a top pulled up or a cloth
Is there a certain day of the month that Lilypad puts out the new BYOC? I went to check it out for June, and the May stuff is still up.
Annoying.
I think they do the first Friday of the month, so not until this Friday.
Ah, thank you 51. :)
I do not care about the breast pics. I am curious, though: how do you know they were for CT pages?
Re: Digi files – I like the ones you don't. I like Cilenia, I adore Viva, I think Quirky Twerp does fun stuff, and have no interest in templates or cards.
I do not care about the breast pics. I am curious, though: how do you know they were for CT pages?
------------
The pages were in the sneak peek thread (before the releases were out) -- that's where the CT & Babes put their layouts for upcoming releases.
#53 they were in the sneak peek thread at SSD. So it had to be a CT posting them because it was posted on Friday and the kits were released Saturday.
Just as #55 said lol
not to mention that gross boob lady's signature says that she CTs for Nicole/SugarplumPaperie. All the kits were Nicole's. And like people have already said, the LOs were posted on Friday on the Sneak Peeks thread-the day before the kits were released for sale in the store.
Why am I not surprised that designers have assholes like this for CTs
Anonymous said... 58
". . . Why am I not surprised that designers have assholes like this for CTs"
BOOBS like this. BOOBS.
LOL, you're right 59. I stand corrected ;)
Of course, that would be ONE way to get him into digiscrapping!

*snicker* :P
So have any of you reported the photo besides me? Just curious if Robin is ignoring it, or if not enough have reported it.
Or
It's sexy and you need to lock up your husbands and sons for fear of awakening their sexual being.
One or the other ladies. Can't have it both ways.
I'm going with choice A.
the nipple is so huge and ugly you are repulsed.
While I agree that the LO was inappropriate for a public forum, and *especially* as a CT layout, I think it's reaching to say that she's trying to show off her tits. Those are most definitely not tits to be proud of.
I think it can be both. Just cause it repulses a woman does not mean that men and boys won't find it appealing and get turned on!

If a baby is nursing, finishes eating, and comes off the breast, and you are gaping at it, the problem is yours - not the mom who is more focused n taking care of her baby that your bizarre repressed sexuality.
You make it sounds like breasts are for feeding *only until the baby is done* at which point, they must be hidden away as quickly as possible because they instantly transform into sexual objects again.

@@ only the mom in question wasn't focused on "taking care of her baby" She was focused on taking pictures of her ugly, ginormous, bare boobs.

After reading your comment, I agree with the person you're bashing.

Oops "a man who" not "a man to who." That's what I get for thinking about nipples while I write.
she could have made the photos more gallery appropriate without compromising her LO's theme.
BINGO
not the mom who is more focused n taking care of her baby that your bizarre repressed sexuality.

Please..this is the dumbest post on the subject and there's stiff competition!
LOL @ "stiff competition" given this thread's topic and the relation to sex.
Can we talk about something else besides boobs please? What else is there to bitch about these days?
Bewbies!!! (sorry, I couldn't help myself) :P
We could talk about Stuff That's Crap's 'Road Trip' 9blog train). We could play 'race to see who finds anything worth downloading'!
^^^^^^^^^
AK Designs has a decent template. Haven't checked out the rest yet. And I only know about her template because it was in her newsletter.
Thanks for the heads up about the template. I've long stopped looking at the blog train because of the horrible stuff I have to wade through.
81: witch blogtrain ?
She does it all the time. Give it a month. She'll be on a bunch of teams again and then three months later, give the same speech.
I'm pretty sure that's almost an exact quote she gave designers a few months ago. Only an attention whore would put that on their wall, though.
Is she at SO or SSD?
shes mostly at SSD I believe. She also applied to be a sugar babe at SSD.
she is mouthy with no class .. good riddance
lol #88, did you quote that from the thread on her FB page? Her and Carly Dee...super trashy!
LOL @ "stiff competition" given this thread's topic and the relation to sex.
-----
Lol..you got that, huh??!!
Who did/does this Tanyia CT for? Seriously, I have no idea who she is.
#84- She stepped down from all her CT's, is there an issue with that? I'm trying to get the point of you pasting what she said on her FB page here.
^^^^^^^
Read comment #85. It's a good recap of what she does.
#94- And that is smack-worthy?
As for the whole boob issue, those nipples are gross.
#83- witch? LOL!
The SSD designers make some strange pics for CTs. Tanyia, the gross boob lady, and many others just leave me ??????
#85- As much as I can see your point, why bother? Tanyia is not going to care what someone thinks of her or she wouldn't have posted that to her FB.
I am so over Traci Reed and her huge ego. She needs to be smacked down a few pegs.
Traci Reed and her huge ego.
------
This is why SSD is the perfect place for her.
I hope she stays where she is. I like having all the designers I love to avoid in one place.
#100- My thoughts exactly.
This is why SSD is the perfect place for her.
I hope she stays where she is. I like having all the designers I love to avoid in one place.
--
Who besides Traci do you like to avoid? Just curious as she's the real standout for ANNOYING to me.
I think she's the epicenter. It's her lackeys that are most of the annoying.
#105- Jenn Barrette and Krystal Hartley. They like to motorboat each other on Facebook. It gets annoying real quick. Rent a room or something.
That should be #104!
Agreed.
#105- Jenn Barrette and Krystal Hartley. They like to motorboat each other on Facebook. It gets annoying real quick.
-
I'm real, real glad I'm not subjected to that since I like both of them as designers.
'real quick' as apposed to fake quick?
'real glad' as opposed to fake glad?
Glad to see we're back to bashing people's poor command of the English language :)
I'm real sleepy. zzzzz
I think #110 is a REAL asshole. Yes, "real" as in genuine.
Also, you (#110) misspelled "opposed" the first time. Since you're such a stickler for what other people write, I thought I'd point out your typo.
^^ Like :)
I am **NOT** interested in:
- heavily distressed/grunged papers, papers with folds or wrinkles, anything too "themish", loud color combos, doodling, primitive elements that look childish, wordart (ie. laugh), anything too kid themed (unless it can be used for other stuff).
Just saw this on facebook from Valentina Crea
[Update] It seems that my new shops at Mscraps and Scraflower will be closed before to be born. I wanna thank all those friend designers who accepted my friendship and my job at mscraps till now and, to those who worked against me.. :))) I wish you all the best! - Closed a door.. we'll open a doorway! LOL
115, you should check out Pixels & Co.
115, you should check out Pixels & Co.
---
Though P & Co. has some nice work, on the whole, it is WAY overpriced, imo.
ITA, 118
For the person looking for clean & simple similar to Paislee Press, I like Three Paper Peonies.
Where is Sherwood Studios moving to?
Why do designers frequently make it a big mystery when they're moving? It just seems silly and lots of times I've noticed they keep it from their ct's til the last minute. Do they do it to bring attention to themselves thinking they'll sell more? If they don't want to say where why say anything at all? I'm so confused (and irritated) by it all!
That should be WHERE they're moving!
#115 For a paper feel kit and papers try Shabby Miss Jenn. She also has great prices.
For clean modern graphic style you should definately check out Digital Design Essentials.
She always has coupons on facebook and great prices for the kits she makes.
I don't see where it's a mystery, her blog says she's moving to SBG.
#122
More often than not, they aren't allowed to say where they are moving until their contracts have been finalized.
#116. I was wondering about that too.
I think it's poor taste to say WHERE you're moving to at your old store. Just bad form. But as someone mentioned- that doesn't necessarily make it a secret lol. Read the blog and FB of those designers
Another move that makes me scratch my head. Why SBG? Sherwood Studio fits in just fine in TDC but I'm not sure about SBG.

___
I don't think they're particularly good nursing pics.
#115 For a paper feel kit and papers try Shabby Miss Jenn. She also has great prices.
----
Shabby Miss Jenn is okay if you like loads and loads and loads of re-colored elements.
I love these free cards! http://peppermintcreative.com/blog/2013/06/potty-mouth-life-in-pictures-cards/
#134, I thought those were funny too, but I don't know what some of them mean, guess I better google!
those are great! It's nice to see a designer that will keep it real
Oh joy, did you see Ms. Charly has another CT call out. You'd think by now she'd realize between her split personality, multiple lies, and crappy designs, she'd figure out why no one is rushing to apply as her CT.
http://scrapmatters.com/forums/showthread.php?34243-My-Very-First-Designers-Edition
I'm loving this thread at SM which shows the designers' first kits. I'm not sure if that proves that the "designers" contributing ugly kits to blog trains will grow one day into professionals, but there's hope, isn't there.
138 - Those first kits look 10 times better than anything Whimpychompers has in her store at Scrap Matters right now.
I meant 139^^^
I wish someone would tell Victoria Feemster at SM to include some more neutrals in her kits. All of her pastel papers and elements look horrible on her sample pages. They seem washed out and call for some graph or kraft papers. I think she has promise but needs some direction.
As for Wimpychompers, she needs some guidance. Her ribbons do not look realistic at all and are poorly colored. Her kit previews are poor and do not showcase her products well, and many of her elements look flat.
^^^^
Well lets hope they or Amber read here. If so, perhaps you've given them the direction you think they need :)
Sugary Fancy is a designer which surprises me positevly every week with her designs.
https://scraporchard.com/market/Digital-Scrapbook-Shopaholic-Kit.html?keep_https=yes
And before anyone comments that I'm Sugary Fancy, I'm not.
I'm a customer that made a comment last month about being sick and tired of the same themes over and over again.
I like to acknowledge good and creative designs when I find them.
I'm a huge shopaholic so I really loved this kit.
145, cute kit but they should have added a couple of credit card embellies! At least that's what I take when I go shopping, rofl!
144 - She's been there for quite awhile so maybe that's why Amber puts up with it. The designers that she's been bringing on recently - K Studio, Jen Reed, River Rose, Snips and Snails are all good designers. I guess 142 has an issue with Victoria who was recent too, I can see her point, not nearly as talented as some of the others but better than Wimpychompers for sure!
http://scrapmatters.com/forums/showthread.php?34243-My-Very-First-Designers-Edition
^^^
And that thread reminds me why I will never, ever, ever, shop at Scrap Matters.

---
You're absolutely right and it works both ways.
A pity!
I agree about Wimpychompers. I think Amber just kinda lets her slide since she has been there a while.
I think the store as a whole is getting better though. Every store has a couple horrible designers in their ranks.
No, 150. The font was not the "best I could come up with." In fact, it was last on my list of criticisms! You might need to brush up on your reading comprehension.
I can't get past "Wimpychompers" as a name to even bother looking at the kits.
#149
I dare you to point out to me other kits with shopping & sales themes.
Unfortunately you can't change that.
sorry I meant criticism
I have to say... I'm really disappointed in the way OSD is turning out now. There are almost no kits realeased anymore and now they are taking on Katie Creates as a guest designer...
I used to shop there back before the big crash but haven't bought anything at all since then. A pity!
---------
Who the hell is Katie Creates and how do you know she is a guest there? She isn't listed in the store at all.
I've purchased a few things from new to me designers at OSD since the re opening and I have been pleasantly surprised. I think they are being smart and not filling their store with any designer that applies the way that DHD did.
151 what's so wrong with katie creates? And why does everyone keep smacking her? I bought a few kits from her the other day during ginger scraps $1 bake sale and i'm very pleased with what I got. The kits I bought had no quality issues that I saw. I just dont get the smacking of her.
I don't either, 160. I think her stuff is really cute. I think some people just like to be critical because it makes them feel important.
Her color palettes aren't always great. I saw some quality issues in her animal/zoo kit.
Katie Creates is far from the worst designer out there and has a lovely gallery. She was kn the SM CT right?
to 115 I second 3 Paper Peonies- Sahlins prices are a bit over the top sometimes- so I usually hold off until sales.. check out Forever Joy Designs I have become a groupie of hers since the Basics collections came out
Guess KH has been reading the blog
http://www.sweetshoppecommunity.com/forum/showthread.php?t=73054
OMG. Could she be any more pretentious?
Guess KH has been reading the blog
---
No kidding. I think she protests too much. If she's in fact that secure she doesn't need to take a paragraph on a scrapbook forum to prove it.
I wonder what sociology textbook she copied that from?
OMG. Could she be any more pretentious?
---
No, but she's trying to prove something mainly to her self, I think. I kinda feel sorry for her after reading that. It's obvious she's REALLY insecure.
I wonder what sociology textbook she copied that from?
-
Exactly. She definitely got it from somewhere because people just don't shoot the breeze like that. She, for sure, doesn't.
It's obvious she's REALLY insecure.
___________
^^this^^ She spends WAY too much time trying to portray otherwise.
Guess KH has been reading the blog
--------
She should spend more time "amusing herself" and less reading the blog here.
I loved the back handed compliment responses to her post. U know everyone was really like WTF???
I like this follow up comment to KH :)
http://www.sweetshoppecommunity.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1131290&postcount=20
I guess we know what they talk about in the SSD backroom:)
WOW! A ton of requirements, worth it or not? Any opinions?

@ 156
I have Big Spender by Heather Roselli and Retail Therapy by Captivated visions.
I also found these:

#175- LeeAndra is just as pretentious as Krystal. I can't stand either of them.
#175
Thanks for taking the time to show me a few kits
but...
the Gingerscrap kits are hideous.
Captivated Visions and Heather Roselli's kits are retired, I can't find them.
The only one I liked is Blagovesta's
but I still find Sugary Fancy's kit to be the best one out there with this theme.
#178
OMG
Stop being a smartass and pay attention to what was writen.
Right because what you like is "good" and what everyone else likes is "bad" ?
Clearly, I'm arguing with a complete moron. I'm out.
Regarding the DSA 'Group Therapy' - it's not that much, really. It's not full kits, just bits and pieces. Doesn't seem that bad. Might be tough if you're in multiple stores, though.
http://stufftoscrap.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=15_230&products_id=9083
There's also this kit. I second the comment that Aprilisa's one is the best of the bunch.
Is it shopping kits you're wanting? I thought of the ones listed (I don't think Aprilisa's is that bad) as well as this one:
http://www.sweetshoppedesigns.com/sweetshoppe/product.php?productid=21924&cat=0&page=1
And found this one while I was there:
http://www.sweetshoppedesigns.com/sweetshoppe/product.php?productid=24603&cat=0&page=1
And I found this thread that has some scary & not so scary results:
http://www.digishoptalk.com/boards/showthread.php?t=312008&highlight=shopping
from KH in the Sweet Shop thread:
I have never seen her FB page. Just looking at her profile pic at SSD tells me what I need to know.
----
I've never seen it either.

No one has said one word about her looks, Idiot. You're so defensive and preachy, you forgot to use your brain and actually comprehend what's been written. The next time I want to hear a sermon, I'll find one myself, thanks.
#190- Hi Krystal! Are you that insecure you have to come here and defend yourself anonymously?
192 - That's not Krystal. Not enough pretentious big words.
And then you act surprised when I quit?
Whatever.
What do you think? I mean each pack is $1 but is it worth it? there are so many packs to choose from...http://www.gottapixel.net/store/home.php?cat=41
^^^^^^
Not my favorite color palette. I can't think of any pictures that I could scrap with that.
I normally like GGI, but that color palette is horrible! Not getting a dime this month.
I didn't like it at all - but did fine one designer's kit that i think works. it looks like it's infringing upon disney copyrights though
damn phone. not fine but finD
