I can't beleive Jofia is retiring tomorrow. I'll buy all the kits I don't have,a few were left on my wishlist. She's one of my favorite designers. So sad..

Anonymous said...

Please designers make a year calendar without space for photos. It's a great gift for friends and family without all the fuss of adding photos.I've been buying NitWit's calendar for the last 3 years.I need something new.

A few designers put out date grids

The Hidden Heart opens his "new shop" next week.

"YAY! Amazing products for you!" WTF, Re? I know you're a kid and all, but this is not good business.

Anonymous said...

#2 Thanks for the links but I'm looking for something ready to print with no work at all, something cute like this.

http://www.nitwitcollections.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=11&products_id=1143

So many designers have so many nice drawings and kits for each season so it would be easy to make a ready to print calendar.

I haven't seen a ready to print calendar(without a photo space) anywhere else except Nitwit. Maybe I'm missing something? If anyone has seen any calendars please let me know.

196: I don't CT which because I'm picky. I won't spend my money on crap. I actually buy from a few of the ones in your list. But a few of those aren't worth my money as proven from past purchases. I stuck with what I know.

Lol #3! Something about him just bugs me too!

Anonymous said...

#3- I think he's 16 or 17 years old, so that explains the closing shops, new design names and reopening AGAIN and AGAIN.

Anonymous said...

Re's 16, and is super sweet. I can't fault him for trying to up his game, but I don't think this is the best way.

Anonymous said...

#3 What isn't good business? His opening a new shop or saying "YAY! Amazing products for you!"

Lot's of women talk like that, but, he's a kid, right? And am I wrong in thinking English isn't his first language?

Please, he's a kid, give him a break.

Anonymous said...

#9- The fact that he has retired, changed design names and then moved stores more than twice already. Customers do get annoyed when you keep retiring or moving stores every few months.

Anonymous said...

------

It's not every few months.

Anonymous said...

I think he's 16 or 17 years old, so that explains the closing shops, new design names and reopening AGAIN and AGAIN.
--------

What about the adult women who do this over and over?

Anonymous said...

I agree. It seems somewhat petty smacking him for being excited about his new store. Adult designers have also done this in the same way and they weren't smacked.

Anonymous said...

#4 - I think you will need to look outside of digi scrapping to get what you want. I've seen calendars like that around elsewhere. Maybe I can find them again.

I don't like the ready to print, because the seasons are usually wrong for me.

Anonymous said...

#11- There are quite a few designers who store hop every few months. That was a general statement not just about him. You mean to tell me you don't get annoyed when designers store hop alot?

#13- I think the OP was talking about the fact that he keeps leaving and coming back to designing. Yes, other designers get smacked here for store hopping. It isn't just him they have ever smacked for it.

Anonymous said...

ITA with #9. He's young and male trying to mix with a predominantly middle-aged, female crowd. So why not use an exclamation point...especially if Portuguese is his first language: he may not know how to "exclaim" happiness in English without actually using an exclamation point.
And if he thinks changing stores will help his sales, what's the problem? Designers change stores all. the. time. Isn't that the idea? Start at a lesser-known store and work your way up? (Although A5D is a nice store. IDK why he'd leave, but that's just my opinion.)
And jeez, he's young: did you have a business when you were young? Hell, did you even WORK before you were old enough to drive? I'm not going to fault him for earning money, especially in this economy. Shoot, I earned like $7 an hour babysitting when I was his age lol! And before y'all start bitching that I'm on his CT or something, I'm not (though I do like his work).

Anonymous said...

#16- Designers get smacked here all the time for the same thing. It's not just him.

I totally agree with what you said though. I did work at his age although I hated it LOL. No, I can't fault him for trying to make a better name for himself or earning more money. However, I do think he might be going about it the wrong way but that's just my opinion. I think he is very talented at what he does. I just wish he would stay put for a while.

Anonymous said...

It's not the moving around as much as it is the constant re-branding. Need to pick a name and stick to it, so customers can at least Google you and find you! Someone might have not done any digi in the last 6 months and if they come back now and look for him, they'll never find him.

Anonymous said...

Yes, other designers get smacked here for store hopping.
--------

They do, but I don't consider changing stores every two years, store hopping. Every six months, yes, that's store hopping.

Anonymous said...

Do customers at 2Ps just not realize that they are overpaying? $8.00 for a kit that is not very big. Sad.

Anonymous said...

I think a lot of paper scrappers buy products there and no doubt think that is a bargain.

Anonymous said...

wow! the crickets are chirping here!

Anonymous said...

I don't like Jenn as a person but I do like some of designs. Maybe it was a bad personality match between Jenn and Kami. Jenn can be a bit snotty.
Oct 11, 2012 3:46:00 PM
--------------------------------
Yeah, and Kami can be more than a bit snotty. I wouldn't assume the problem was Jenn. Kami is a nasty bitch.

Anonymous said...

I am an established designer making good money, but I was once turned away from a 'top' store not because of the owner, but because some of the designers didn't want me there. I think it was because they didn't want the competition!
Their loss!

Hi Traci.

Anonymous said...

#23, I've never seen her be nasty to anyone. Maybe you could be more specific about how she has been nasty towards others?

Or is that just a feeling that you have?

Anonymous said...

24- smh?

25- LOL.

Anonymous said...

smh=smack my head

Anonymous said...

smack my head? I always thought it was "shake my head".

Anonymous said...

Wow traci, You just totally gave yourself away there with that comment. I always knew you had bitchy tendencies.

Anonymous said...

Everyone here has bitchy tendencies. Why else read or post on a blog that exists to say mean things about people. This is the Bitch Blog.

Anonymous said...

#30- Traci a bitch, I totally agree with you. How do you know that was Traci? Do her and Mye have issues with each other?

Anonymous said...

I have worked with alot of designers and feel that I know them well on a business level, but not personally. Unless you are friends in the real world, you don't really know a person.

Anonymous said...

"Unless you are friends in the real world, you don't really know a person."

That is not true at all. I've made several online friends over the years that came to be real-life friends even though we've never met each other in person.

Anonymous said...

yeah, well that can backfire. Many people that I've friended online are great and I believe authentic but there's been a couple that I thought I knew but it turned out they were players.

But, in general, the comments here are coming from people that are basing their opinions on impressions from forum posts. That lame. You can't really know someone's overall attitude (or bitchiness range) from that alone.

You can tell if they are whiney or a drama queen though. And that drives me nuts when there is one drama after next. I had to unfriend some digiscrappers on facebook because their life was such a tradgedy every five minutes.

Anonymous said...

Traci wasn't the only person who had "issues" with Mye...

Anonymous said...

"That is not true at all. I've made several online friends over the years that came to be real-life friends even though we've never met each other in person."

If you have not met them in person, they are not a real life friend.

Anonymous said...

#37 Oh I'm sorry, I guess they are fake friends then? Just because you've never met someone doesn't make them any less of a friend.
We've exchanged phone calls, cards and even birthday gifts. I would hardly consider that anything but a "Real Life" friend.

Just because you do not share my view of what real life friendship is, doesn't make mine any less valid. Thanks. Aside the fact from using the term real life friend just sounds bizarre. :)

#35 Sorry to hear that. I've had that happen to me too, not necessarily "players", but more than meets the eye is a better way to put it. Just like "real life" friends (LOL this still cracks me up sorry), you have to be careful and unfortunately sometimes we get hurt by the ones we never thought we would. :/

Anonymous said...

smack my head? I always thought it was "shake my head".

-------

It is shake my head.

Anonymous said...

Unless you are friends in the real world, you don't really know a person.
-----

Meh, you can never really know a person, be it on line or real life.

Anonymous said...

I did not use the term "real-life" friend. I replied to someone who used the term. From your reaction to my reply, it must have been you that penned the term.

I am not saying your friend is a "fake friend", but that you cannot know someone WELL if you only know them online, through greeting cards, and phone calls. You can send mail and make phone calls from prison. And no, I did not call your friend a criminal. :)

Anonymous said...

I know this is a little off the subject but how well do you know someone if they use a picture of themselves that was taken 10 years ago? I see this all over the digital community. You look at a person's profile pic in forums and posts, and then when you see them in pictures on their Facebook or layouts, they are obviously much older now. How many of you use a picture that is younger than you really are? Or a picture that is not even really you? You can be honest. No one will know it is you. Literally.

Anonymous said...

Mine is really me - Photoshopped!!! lol

Anonymous said...

LOL!! Mine too!

Anonymous said...

They use Photoshop on models pictures, why shouldn't we? Right, right?

Anonymous said...

Yes! I want to always be photographed through a filter from this day forward. No close ups please.

Anonymous said...

Mine is me, but when I need a profile pic, I will literally take 50 pics until I get a flattering one. If I'm scrapping a page, I have to use whatever awful picture someone else took of me, lol.

Anonymous said...

Any reactions about Kristin Aagard just opening an exclusive store at SO while she was a guest there.. and suddently closing her A5 store ?

Anonymous said...

My profile pic is me, but it's a couple years old. I hesitate to change it, though, because it's the "me" people know.

I also know it as smack my head.

Anonymous said...

It's funny how some people love to smack newer designers with the use of CU but don't dare to touch designers that have been around for a long time. Shabby Miss Jenn is one and if you look at this kit please don't tell me it is not a copyright infringement.

----

New here? People smack all designers that use too much CU, be they young, old, new, top, bottom, pink or purple.

And Shabby Miss Jenn has certainly had her share of smack on this blog and all it's incarnations.

Anonymous said...

#50 - are you aware of the difference between CU and copyright? It seems from your post that you are not.

Anonymous said...

I don't think Kristin Aagard will be happy at SO. A5D is a way better store IMO. Yes the forums are
very quite & they don't have challenges anymore, but I still think it's a better store.

Anonymous said...

I'm sure 50 is referring to the almost idential instagram camera. Its pretty darn close, though not identical. Closer than I would go.

Anonymous said...

#50 how is that kit a copyright infringement? We might agree with you if you link us up to what she's copying.

Anonymous said...

#54 Closer than I would go too.

#56 she did provide a link.

Anonymous said...

I should have guessed that when Kristin went to the Expo with the SO girls that she would be leaving A5D. I hope that Kristin doesn't turn into Laura Banasiak, who changed so much when she moved to SO.

Anonymous said...

#48- Kami got her claws into Kristin. Let's hope that Kristin stays nice and doesn't become a raving bitch like Kami.

Anonymous said...

I also think After 5 is a better store than Scrap orchard but Kristin's style is very much Scrap Orchard.
What's happening to After Five my favorite store? So few designers left.I hope they add new ones soon or I'll start to worry.

Anonymous said...

Kristin Aagard left all of sudden from After Five with no notice and no moving sale there. What's going on?Is this going to be a new thing now in digiland?
I don't like it. I hate designers hopping stores often but at least I get to buy stuff at a sale price. I know she has a sale going on at Scrap Orchard but why leave in such a hurry from your previous shop?
Jofia retired on Saturday and her shop is still open.

Anonymous said...

#57, to the kit. Not to what she was infringing upon. I don't use instagram, so it wasn't clear to me. I wonder if the OP about this issue will send a note to instagram?

Anonymous said...

Didn't Kristin start at SO?

Anonymous said...

I'm sure 50 is referring to the almost idential instagram camera.
------

Yeah, but that's not using CU which is what she started talking about and then she went on about copyright. I agree, the camera is way too close to the Instagram icon.

Anonymous said...

#61 so this is really just about you not get to buy stuff on sale? Klassy!

I don't think A5 is better than SO. They have too many fantasy designers and they aren't very active. New release days were too hit or miss to make it worth my while. Kristen released new stuff regularly. I wouldn't want to be in a store with a bunch of designers that don't design. New releases keep the store hopping and SO has a bunch every week!

Anonymous said...

#61 -- She's having a big sale at SO!

Anonymous said...

#65- It's classy. A sale would have been nice incase she retired products when she moved to SO.

Anonymous said...

boo hoo, #67.

Anonymous said...

Kristin Aagard left all of sudden from After Five with no notice and no moving sale there. What's going on?Is this going to be a new thing now in digiland?
-----

It's happened before with other designers at other store and no, I'm not talking about Jenn Labre (sp?). It's totally going to be new thing now because two designers have done this in the last month.

It's funny though, that both times SO is involved.

Anonymous said...

#68- Are you that sad she left A5D that you have to boo-hoo?

Anonymous said...

#67 - it's "in case" - two words, not one. I wouldn't normally have pointed that out, but you corrected klassy to classy, so you set the precedence.

Anonymous said...

70, are you absolutely clueless? I'm making fun of #67's whining about not getting her cheap digikits.

Gotta agree with #65. That's *K*lassy!
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=klass for the rest of you that need a clue.

Anonymous said...

#72- Did you ever think someone might want to grab something in case she retired the product when she moved? No, you didn't.

Anonymous said...

#72 - the rest who?

Anonymous said...

#73 - first world problems

Anonymous said...

I need a klue.

Anonymous said...

#75- What does that have to do with what #73 asked?

Anonymous said...

Kami probably doesn't allow them to announce they are moving or have a sale prior to opening at SO. Sounds like the kind of control freak move she'd pull.

Anonymous said...

#77 - if you have to ask, you'll never understand.

Anonymous said...

Bella Gypsy had a sale before they moved to SO.

Anonymous said...

#80 - yep, and they weren't the only ones. Someone here really doesn't like Kami

Anonymous said...

#81- Not many people do.

Anonymous said...

Didn't BG only have a sale on stuff they were retiring?

Anonymous said...

#65 Touche for using Urban words. I'm impressed.
I'm glad you showed us what Klassy means with your attitude.
Usually when a designer changes shops they retire old designs and have a sale. It's also good to have a proper goodbye time for customers and for the store they sold for the last few years. It shows respect.
I don't like the sudden moves designers have been having lately. One day I'm selling here and the next day I close shop and open all of sudden somewhere else. It's hard to keep track of everyone already, this new trend is getting on my nerves.

Anonymous said...

#82 - she never did me no wrong, so I have no issues with her and I don't think I'm the only one.

Anonymous said...

#63 I remember Kristin selling at Gotta Pixel in 2008.She was quite the store hopper back then. I guess her time has come to store hop again. She stayed for quite some time at After Five.

Anonymous said...

A5D has new releases every week too & from many active designers like BCD & Laurie Ann. I don't think any of the stuff is fantasy either.

Anonymous said...

#73, She didn't retire anything.

Anonymous said...

I really like the way SM is turning around. They seem to be much more with it under Amber than they had been for the last couple years under Andilynn....but what the heck is up with their site? The last two weekends it has been clocking regularly in the evening. It was even down with server issues the other night. And tonight it is taking one to two minutes again for the pages to load. Who has all evening to try to shop or chat at a store with clocking issues? If they don't get it fixed, I'll go elsewhere.

Anonymous said...

I'm not on her CT or the SO CT but I am happy she moved, whatever her reason is/reasons are. Simply because I like her stuff.

Anonymous said...

I never understood why stores have to have links that expire after 3-5-7 days. Why?
Can someone explain this to me?

Anonymous said...

#91- I'm guessing it has something to do with the server. Not sure. They also charge you to reset them after they expire at some stores.

Anonymous said...

#24 Sorry to disappoint you but I am not Mye! LOL

Anonymous said...

Two designers does not a trend make. Besides, it's not new. It's happened before.

Anonymous said...

Kristin Aagard has also been at Oscraps for a short time.

Anonymous said...

And Plain Digital Wrapper and Shabby Pickle.

Anonymous said...

Having links that expire helps shop owners fight the illegal sharing that goes on. It's not a solution, but one more way to protect designers. If links never expired, they could be shared more.

Anonymous said...

Zig Zag Scraps closing tomorrow.

I'm sorry, anyone who uses Urban dictionary for a reference to spelling needs to get off the internet now.

Anonymous said...

#97 Having links that expire helps shop owners fight the illegal sharing that goes on. It's not a solution, but one more way to protect designers. If links never expired, they could be shared more.

_____
It is frustrating when the links are only valid for seven days or less. Sorry, I think the argument about piracy is just a cop-out.

Yes, there are a few customers who are pirates, but why should I be penalized or lumped with them? I will not ever shop at A5D because of their 7 day "We don't give a hoot about our customers- you are all a bunch of pirates and thieves" policy. It leaves a very bad taste in my mouth, and it is just plain poor customer policy. I guess that is just me though- they are very popular on this board.

It is not at all difficult or costly to leave the links up for longer- SM, Scrapflower, Twopeas, scrapbook graphics, etc. At least a couple of weeks is a reasonable amount of time. I think some people/ countries have data limits, and the short downlink times penalize them or discourage them from shopping as much as they could during nsd, etc.

Anonymous said...

#99 You need to lighten up.

Anonymous said...

Why don't you just download your stuff right after you buy it? I don't understan why you would need more than a few days. The only time I wait to download is if the site is really slow and busy. I just don't understand why you would need more than a few days.

Anonymous said...

NDISB is closing in November. I hope that someone takes over ADSR.

Anonymous said...

The only advantages I see to longer download times are if you have a hard drive failure. But most sites only keep designers kits for 90 days after they leave a site. Keeping all designers indefinetly would take up a lot of space.

Anonymous said...

*****At least a couple of weeks is a reasonable amount of time. I think some people/ countries have data limits, and the short downlink times penalize them or discourage them from shopping as much as they could during nsd, etc.*****

I'm sure that if a person that was in this situation contacted a store owner before hand to explain, they could work something out.

Anonymous said...

#99- I didn't know anyone could add words there.

#100- Most stores have a 7 day link rule not just A5D.

#104- I'm hoping that dies when NDISB closes.

Chelle Hayes-Durand Maybe you'll stay at this shop longer than 3-4 months?

The Hidden Heart I really want to! haha I don't like to change my shop but when my sales are horrible I need to do it...

Kate Coleman We're waaaaaaiiiting!!!

The Hidden Heart Tomorrow I'll post! :DD

Chelle Hayes-Durand Maybe it's not the store.
____________________________________________

just read this on FB. Chelle's last comment made me chuckle

Anonymous said...

#107 Yes, but A5D has a no reset period rule, no matter what. Hard drive failures don't count- even if you back up, your back up can fail also

#106- Some are helpful, some are not, actually several are not or want to charge a lot of money, even within 30 days.

#103- Daily/weekly data limits- kits can be huge these days, 100 MB or more- think 2-3 GB monthly download limits, slow download speeds at home, spending a lot of money, thinking you have downloaded but forgetting some of the products, shopping on the go such as using the ipad with no wi-fi connection, working lots of overtime, life in general, etc.

I guess I don't see what the big deal is in leaving the links up a few days longer. Some people don't have time or connections to download the minute they purchase something.

I guess I am used to e-books, etc. where it is not an issue, and they are likely to have much more pirating.

I don't understand why I need to lighten up. It was a simple statement. Perhaps it is you who should lighten up since you cannot sense sarcasm through text?

Pardon me if I feel using a fake dictionary as a spelling reference is retarded. LOL.

Anonymous said...

She wasn't using it for spelling. It is a saying. "klassy with a K" means that you aren't really classy. Sheesh, you really do need to lighten up.

Anonymous said...

No, I don't need to lighten up because I'm laughing my ass off at your responses.

So, in essence the Lightening up was done before you even responded to the first one. ;)

Is English your first language? Do you understand what phrases mean? Do you need a lesson on sarcasm? Do you really think my responses were heavy and emotionally driven?

If so, I'm sorry for you...you must have a very depressing life. :( Boo hoo. Apparently, the internet warriors are up early this morning. :D

Zig Zag Scraps was closing it's doors on October 15th. I forgot about it and tried to check out the site one last time. It's already down. I thought it was until midnight but I was wrong.

We mentioned scrap pet peeves a while ago. I remembered one.
I want the time frame to be mentioned when sales or happenings are going on. I can't guess what time something will be over.

Anonymous said...

Not surprised about Funky Playground. The only time I shopped there was when Sir Scrapalot selled his designs there.

Anonymous said...

So, is the short designer list because Funky Playground let their designers know they were closing, and gave them time to find new stores? Or is the closing because they lost all their designers?

RE: DL links expiring and EHD failure.
Why would you only have one EHD? If it fails, then you lose everything. So have a back up EHD in case your first one poops out on you. Online stores shouldn't be responsible for your digital items. If you spilled coffee on an actual piece of paper, do you expect Hobby Lobby to give you a new piece of paper? Nope. So deal with it. If you don't take care of your things, then it's your fault, not the stores' fault.

Anonymous said...

One thing I'm happy about with Kristin's move to SO is that she doesn't seem to have hiked up her prices. I checked out the price of some kits I bought at A5D and they're the same regular price at SO. I'd have stopped buying from her if she'd upped prices on old kits. That just ticks me off.

Anonymous said...

y'allz is klassy!

Anonymous said...

#129 I know that to be rude for rudeness sake is the purpose of the smack blog, but I think that you missed 90% of what the comment was about. Two week or more download periods should not be a big deal, and it shows customer appreciation. Also, some people only have room in their budget for a laptop and one EHD. It is not an issue of taking care of stuff. You can download on the last day and not have a back up scheduled until a day or two later.

I wonder if you are defensive because you are a fan of A5D.

Anonymous said...

#132- I think #129 is a store owner who is trying to justify being a link Nazi with her own store.

Anonymous said...

I can think of another reason to wish to have either a longer download period or a way to get them reset is that one can download lots of stuff and not unzip it all, but when the files are unzipped, one or more might have been corrupt. It happened to me and unfortunately, it was too late to redownload (I admit it was not just a few days later though!).
I only worked with zencart myself and I wonder if it is more complicated with xcart to reset the links. If it is just a matter of a few clicks, why are some shops requiring a fee for it? Is it just to discourage the requests, or really to compensate for the time and bandwidth it takes?

I'll be honest, I've never understood the short period for downloading links. We leave ours available forever. It doesn't happen often that people need them, but when they do, it's always very appreciated.

(That includes designers who no longer sell with us.)

I'm 129. Total ROTFL at link nazi. And no, I'm not defending A5D and I'm not a store owner (thank goodness. I can't imagine having to put up with all the stuff they must have to deal with). And I didn't take the DL expiration topic to be only about A5D. I've heard lots of people complain about stores that don't have unlimited DL links or DL links that never expire and who also say "what happens if my EHD conks out on me?" Maybe it's a matter of prioritizing money (if you really care about backing up your stuff, then you'll save until you can get a second one. And if you can't save a few bucks a week, then how are you buying all these scrap kits that you need unlimited DL links for?). Like I said, it's the buyer's responsibility, not the store's responsibility. That's my point. And I'm not trying to be rude for rudeness' sake. I didn't call anyone names. I just said to take responsibility for your things. How is that a bad thing?
I do think stores should give you enough time to be able to DL and then unzip everything to make sure it's all there (in case a folder won't properly open or whatever). But links that never expire? Seems a bit unnecessary for a small niche web store to provide. iTunes, maybe. They make money hand over fist lol.

Anonymous said...

#137- I don't think it's unlimited links I think they meant more than 7 days before they expire. Maybe 14 days would be better.

OMG! My new shop will open on October 19th! And I don't have anything ready!!! #freaking

10/8
Tell me, what's your favorite kit by me? :D

Btw, I've already made 5 new products(including an AMAZING kit) for you!!!! :DDD I know you'll love it!

5 new products in less than a day? Must be really well thought out because he was #FREAKING earlier with nothing.

Kids these days.

Anonymous said...

I'm a store owner and give 7 days but never hesitate to reset orders for customers. I do not hold onto former designers kits beyond 90 days.

Gennifer said...

So, #140, what's the benefit to only having it be for 7 days? Is it just a piracy deterrent?

Anonymous said...

#141- They just feel that 7 days is long enough time to DL your stuff.

Anonymous said...

Using the word retarded = klassy.

Maybe you can get your own reality show on TLC. They seem to like your kind these days.

Anonymous said...

Who's "they"??????

Anonymous said...

#144- They = store owners.

Anonymous said...

I'm 140 and I just took it to be a standard becuase every shop I have been in has been that way. I would be open to changing it, but really I dont get a lot of requests to reset orders.

Anonymous said...

I'm a customer and I buy lots of stuff especially on NSD. Last year I bought so much stuff that I didn't have the time to download them in time. I lost track of what I bought where and til the time I got organized I had to contact all the stores to reset my links. I'm not talking about 1-2 kits but orders close to $100 a store and the links had over 1-2 months that had expired. Anyway..Scrap Orchard was the only store that asked for a fee.
After Five was the store with the most links and the kindest one. They reset my links right away.
Just sharing my personal experience.
I love that Design House Digital keeps the links unlimited.
I think that 2 weeks is a good time for links.
Digital Design Essentials keeps them open for 3 days.Crazy!!!
Most stores I shop from have a 5 day limit.
P.s. Anyway last year was a lesson for me and now I try to download everything right away. I can't promise I unzip them and organize them right away but I feel secure that I have the zip files.

I'm sorry, anyone who uses Urban dictionary for a reference to spelling needs to get off the internet now.

It's not a real dictionary, and if you think it is...you fail, miserably. Anyone can add words to that site.
-------

Not the OP, but thanks for the laugh. You are Klearly Klueless.

Anonymous said...

But most sites only keep designers kits for 90 days after they leave a site.
------

That long? Every store I was at only required me to keep the kits on the server for 30 days after I left.

Anonymous said...

NDISB is closing in November.
-----

Oh? That makes me sad.

Anonymous said...

Download link expiry time? It has never been an issue with me.

I understand slow connection times, but even then it's easy enough to download everything within fiv or seven days.

Failed EHD, not the responsibility of the store.

Forgot to download something, not the responsibly of the store. I did that once and contacted customer service and my link was reset with no problems. It's not hard.

Don't have time to download straight away. Fair enough but if you find you don't have time to download within five or seven days ... when do you find time to scrap? If you are scrapping, you are on the computer and you can download in the background.

How can you lose track of what you bought? Aren't you sent an email with a download link? Just keep the darn email, it's easy.

How long before Re complains about his horrible sales when he debuts at Oscraps? I am betting on a week. Is Oscraps that desperate for designers that they are taking on a known store hopper who leaves because he blames the store on his crappy sales?

Anonymous said...

Wasn't Re at After 5 for over a year?

Anonymous said...

#153- I think he was but he left because his sales were horrible and blamed the store.

Anonymous said...

And before that, wasn't he at another store for almost a year or two? I don't think being at a store for a year or two and then moving on is store hopping.

Anonymous said...

I wonder how his mama feels about him going to "the big O"? It's distasteful for a child to advertise that way.

Anonymous said...

#155- He may not know what "the big O" means LOL.

Anonymous said...

That should be #156 not 155.

Anonymous said...

#156 Who is his Mama? I know Juliana Kneipp is his sister.

Anonymous said...

"the big O"? Oprah?

Anonymous said...

The Big O = Orgasm.

I don't fault him for moving stores to get better sales. That's why every designer moves.

Anonymous said...

#159: he probably has parents or grandparents...

Anonymous said...

I wonder how his mama feels about him going to "the big O"? It's distasteful for a child to advertise that way.
'----

Only if you think like that. He's not American. I didn't know what the Big O was either. What's distasteful is you thinking it's distasteful because that says a lot about you and where your mind is.

Anonymous said...

So you would be ok with your child posting that the are going to the big O on facebook or their blog? Absolute sympathy when they are approached for being so open...

Anonymous said...

Lots of people refer to Oscraps as the Big O.

Anonymous said...

She's just thinking like a mom. And that is what that saying means outside the digi world. Overstock knew what they were doing when they used it years ago.

Anonymous said...

He sure is cute! <3

Anonymous said...

So you would be ok with your child posting that the are going to the big O on facebook or their blog? Absolute sympathy when they are approached for being so open...
-----
Point 1 - I didn't know what the Big O was

Point 2 - he's not American, nor are his parents, they probably have no clue what the Big O is either

Point 3 - yes, I wold totally be okay with that because I don't know what means

Anonymous said...

And that is what that saying means outside the digi world.
-------

Maybe only in the US, gotta think outside of that place, know what I'm saying.

Anonymous said...

She's just thinking like a mom.
----

No.

Anonymous said...

So many digi things to discuss and we end up smaking about this designer kid and everything he writes on facebook.
Move on people...

Anonymous said...

#171- It's more or less his attitude of blaming the stores he sold at for his horrible sales. He doesn't ever stop to think it might be him and not the store. I understand he's a kid but if your going to have a job as a designer you have to take some responsibity for your designs and sales.

Anonymous said...

^^ responsibility. I hate typing on my phone.

Anonymous said...

What are you thinking about the new designers of the O? I was expecting bad designers there, but I was wrong... Mommyish and Studio 68 are great! I heard that The Hidden Heart will be there too, is that true? OMG! That boy is good but he doesn't stay anywhere!

Anonymous said...

I just read on facebook that Re will be visiting the smackblog. So hi Re.
Ok my true opinion about your kits. They're too small for the price you sell them. Cute but too expensive for 5 papers and 10 elements. I think that's the reason you had bad sales at After five.
Sorry to tell you this but I think After Five was a more active store than Oscraps.
I wish you luck.

Anonymous said...

Okay, my definition of a store hopper is someone who has been at the very least at 4 to 6 stores in the last two years. So, if Re is a store hopper - name the stores he has been at in the last two years. If it's less than 3, he's not a store hopper.

Anonymous said...

Someone was actually trying to give him good advice on his fanpage and I thought he was really sweet about it.

Anonymous said...

SBG, DSB, A5D and now Oscraps. That's 4.

Anonymous said...

He was only a "junior" at SBG, so maybe just like a guest? I would not consider guest positions as counting toward "store hoping" definition.

Anonymous said...

#179- I would because he left pretty quickly.

Anonymous said...

Re was at SBG for a while too. I think that is where he started out as a Jr. Designer.

Anonymous said...

SBG, DSB, A5D and now Oscraps. That's 4.

----------

I thought it would be a lot more the way some people are carrying on. I thought the list be at least 8 stores.

Anonymous said...

Why did he leave SBG quickly? Anyone knows?

Anonymous said...

#183- Would you want to work under Maya's guidance?

Anonymous said...

Jeez Louise...

From The Hidden Heart FB post...

I had an idea! I was reading the Smack blog and, I don't know why, but I love that blog! LOL So many ideas I have when I read it!
Well, I've read a lot of people saying "English isn't his first language" and it isn't... the English I know today I learned by myself... but I'll add a brazilian touch to my page, blog, newsletter and designs! :D
A new THH is coming! mwahaha

Beijão! ;D

Started in October, left in July - that's not that quickly, not as quickly as some.

Anonymous said...

#185 - I love his attitude, at least he doesn't have a stick up his bum like some of the other designers that get mentioned here.

Anonymous said...

#915 - probably good for her but not necessarily him. Other designers have left SBG and gone to other stores. Big deal.

#196- Someone asked why HE not other designers left SBG. That was my answer.

Anonymous said...

Boooooooooring topic..and it goes on and on about the junior.Who cares???
I'm starting to think that smackers here are referring to him on purpose for advertising reasons.
