STO will be closing its doors permanently on March 15

Anonymous said...

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
I didn't even know it was still around.

Anonymous said...

STO? I can't find that store on the list, and my minds gone blank!

Scrap Takeout

Anonymous said...

I didn't know they still existed either.

Anonymous said...

How about P&CO? Are they still selling stuff?

Anonymous said...

SSD updated the way new releases appear in their store.

Anonymous said...

Is Janet Phillips taking over The DailyDigi again? It seems like all the posts are from her.

Anonymous said...

#17 - P&Co is still open, the forums are super slow but the store may be getting lots of sales. Who knows?

Anonymous said...

March scrap stack kits look blah this month. Won't be purchasing.

Anonymous said...

I like the one from Meredith Cardall but that's it. I'll wait for that to come out on its own.

Anonymous said...

Scrap Pack items are now exclusive to the Scrap Pack and can't be released into stores or given away as a freebie after. If you like the kit, this is the only way to get it.

Anonymous said...

Since when?

Anonymous said...

Wrong. Guest designers can release in their own stores.

Anonymous said...

Wrong - Why do you think the offerings aren't as good now? Papers, alphas, journal cards, minis? Because the designers can't sell them so why would they want to put a ton of work into it.

Anonymous said...

If that's the case, a designer would have to be high to release anything there. Most of the time the Scrap Pack is not worth the money because a good portion of it is ugly. I can see releasing there if you can later sell separately but why would a designer agree to not being able to do that?

Anonymous said...

The in house designers sell there. The guests are also guest designers in the store for the month they are in the scrap pack.

Anonymous said...

I won't worry about it since the things were blah anyhow. They can sell or not!

Anonymous said...

--------------------------------------------------
I guess I won't buying it at all then.

Anonymous said...

Do the designers get paid by ScrapStacks for their part of the scrap pack, then? If she's requiring it to be exclusive, I sure hope so. At least with TDD they can sell it after.

Anonymous said...

Why am I getting a million e-mails from the Pixels and Company gallery in the past few days? They are "moving" all of my layouts? Why? This is very possibly the most annoying thing ever.

Anonymous said...

#32 I am too. I actually just went there to see which layouts were being moved and got an error like the site is GONE?! Anyone else??

Anonymous said...

Me too 32 & 33- moving gallery categories- my guess is the gallery still had the categories from the designers who left still in place and now they are getting rid of those. You would think that would've happened right away...

Anonymous said...

OK, the entire P&CO site is gone, hopefully it's just a glitch and will be back up soon . . . going to go check out their FB page.

Anonymous said...

Just read the blog post for Scrap Stacks CT members..... is it just me or does every store out there have the same "choice" CT members? I'm sure they have hundreds of ppl to apply but I see the same names on each team page.

Anonymous said...

#35 FB page for P&Co says new and improved P&Co in the works.

Anonymous said...

Just read the blog post for Scrap Stacks CT members..... is it just me or does every store out there have the same "choice" CT members? I'm sure they have hundreds of ppl to apply but I see the same names on each team page.
---
Yes, they all (mostly) pick the same folks. I find it kinda strange but they must have their reasons. I know different people apply and repeatedly don't get chosen because I see them post about it.. It's sad in a way that they don't get a chance and I can't imagine self imposing that kind of angst on myself by repeatedly applying and getting rejected.

Anonymous said...

#38 - it would be nice to see some new "faces" in those mixes. Bring some new perspective to the layouts and such. Oh well.

Anonymous said...

No store does planned maintenance without giving their customers advance notice, and it also never takes a week. If a site was really just redesigning its look it would not disable the site while the changes took place. Looks to me like the P&CO owner accidentally deleted her site instead of just deleting designer categories from her gallery. I bet those designers who left in a mass exodus last fall are really glad not to be there right now. o_O

Anonymous said...

They posted on the FB page that they were planning on it being behind the scenes, but changed their mind with all the emails.

Anonymous said...

The TLP new pollywog was chosen. I find it interesting that they selected someone who cheated on her entries. She didn't even do layouts for 2 days... she just reposted old ones she had already submitted.

Anonymous said...

Really, 42? What layouts were reposts? Were they posted at tlp or some other gallery? What a scandal..... Wonder if they would dethrone her if it was called out. I don't want to be a polly but that is a lot of work that others did to have a potential cheater win.

Anonymous said...

I'd like to know which ones too!

Anonymous said...

i find it interesting that the new polly is a designer at another store.

Anonymous said...

What's her designer name? Where does she sell her designs?

Anonymous said...

http://wendypdesigns.blogspot.com/

Anonymous said...

So P&Co has been down for a week now?

Anonymous said...

http://wendypdesigns.blogspot.com/
I wouldn't and will not buy anything from her ever.
She stole stuff from Shaykara (sp) when she was designing.
Sad, Shaykara made it known all over with detailed pics.
Definitely stolen. So she hasn't changed much, thief and not
very trustworthy. Not very good representation for a store, if you ask me.
Time to shop elsewhere and let TLP have her.

Anonymous said...

SHCO's been hacked.

Anonymous said...

Scrapbook Bytes is closing.

Anonymous said...

What's going on with P&Co.? It's broken and it cannot be fixed?

Anonymous said...

No idea but their site is no longer showing up on the first page of a Google search. That can't be good.

Anonymous said...

SO seems like it is dying too. No action in the forums, and continuing with blah releases. And that horrible gallery.

Anonymous said...

Where did you hear about Scrapbook Byte? That is another long time store/site to bite the dust. Is scrapbooking dying in general?

Anonymous said...

It is on their site that they are closing at the end of the month basically.

Anonymous said...

Will P&CO open again in your opinion? The renovation process of their website is taking waaaay tooooo looooong.

Anonymous said...

I'm more doubtful by the day that P&CO is ever going to reopen. They don't seem to be responding to comments or questions left on their Facebook page either.

Anonymous said...

Maybe their super expensive collab / subscription was not really selling.
IMHO they were one of the best digi-stores, boo ):

Anonymous said...

I'm with #58. Each day that goes by with no word or update makes it seem like it is "The End"

Anonymous said...

Maybe their super expensive collab / subscription was not really selling.
IMHO they were one of the best digi-stores, boo ):
--
When all the other designers were there, it was. It was one of two shops I bought from all the time. Once the other designers split, it's just a shell of what it used to be. I don't see, from a practical sense, how it can afford to stay open.

Anonymous said...

Even if P & Co. *does* open again (which seems doubtful), it has completely discredited itself as a reliable site for a subscription service. I'd be pretty irked right now if I had bought a subscription.

Anonymous said...

#62 - I agree there. I also can't help but think of the designers that are there, and them having to "wait" to be able to sell their products, especially if they aren't in any other stores. SMH

Anonymous said...

Oscraps blog hop is a disaster as always. Most of the links are broken. The designers don't know how to manage their FB page tabs. I don't see why they bother doing hops, since they screw them up every single time!

Anonymous said...

Agree about the Oscraps train. Found one stop via CraftCrave. Tried going to the next stop and couldn't get there. Gave up.

Anonymous said...

We haven't heard / read / found out anything new about P&CO and it's almost April. BAD SIGN, baaaad sign. Any insider news?

Anonymous said...

It's nothing but crickets from PCO everywhere. There are a couple of posts on their FB page about having prepaid for the monthly subscription and not being able to download it.

Anonymous said...

I agree....it's seeming more and more bad as the days go on. #sigh

Anonymous said...

Ok there's an update on FB from PCo: "Have you missed us? We'll be back tomorrow, and we're ready to rock... We've got a brand-new subscription kit (with a special guest designer!), a killer sitewide sale, and even a special gift for our newsletter subscribers! (Didn't have a chance to download March's kits? You'll still have access until April 15th!) No foolin'!"

So...seems like tomorrow everything will be back.

Anonymous said...

Sugarhillco is having a huge 75% off sale for 24 hours..

Anonymous said...

And oh my goodness is the site running slow........everyone must be on there.

Anonymous said...

And oh my goodness is the site running slow........everyone must be on there.
--
You can't blame 'em! The sale is AWESOME!

Anonymous said...

digi files rock this month--just sayin! Best month in quite some time.

Anonymous said...

- - - - - - -

They spent a month upgrading their site. . . . .to that??? There is no way that was a planned upgrade. It's a downgrade.

Also, what guest designer? There isn't one listed in their shop, it's all of the same people. How is that place even open still?

Anonymous said...

#74 ---> The guest designer is Mye. She's not new to the site I think, but something happened in the past between her and Gen.
Mye + P&Co resident designers created the April collab which, in my opinion, is blaaah. Blaaaaaah.

Anonymous said...

If something happened in the past with Gen, why would she be doing anything there? That seems like a ridiculous rumor.

Anonymous said...

Let's talk about Pickleberrypop's freebie hop. I like the store but it is sad to see some experienced designers who can't even do a basic quality check. Tami Miller - strays pixels, jaggies. Laura Burger - Major jaggies and I could go on. Some seriously needs to go back to learn the basics and how to recolor an element.

Anonymous said...

Speaking of PBP, didn't Jen Yurko announce her retirement from designing a month ago and now she's back? Wasn't she associated with Scrap Takeout?

Anonymous said...

no. she didn't retire, she just closed scrap takeout. i'm sure she'll do better at pbp now that they have a pretty decent selection of designers. they've become one of my go-to shops with more than just one or two of my faves. do they ever do ct calls at pbp? i like the variety of designs lately

Anonymous said...

I think PBP had a CT call last year, but I didn't apply then. I’d apply if they did a call now! I really like the variety they have on their design team. They’re not all my style, but at least the designer’s styles don’t all look alike (like in some shops).

Anonymous said...

personally, I don't care for pbp at all.

Anonymous said...

Stray pixels are not good. But seriously what customer checks for jaggies? And if you do, even if there are none, if you rotate an element, you get jaggies anyway. I think the biggest quality issue is gamut. If colors are out of gamut, then your layouts aren't going to look decent when printed. Strays and Jaggies aren't going to show up at all.

I wonder if that's why the designers at PBP don't worry about those two issues? ????

Anonymous said...

i've really grown to like pbp the last year or so. they have the best customer service around by far and i look forward to new releases as much as i do those from other shops. on the other hand, i'm getting a bit sick of crap orchard and ssd. same crap, different week. it all looks the same week after week. lilypad and studio have some decent variety

Anonymous said...

#83 - I definitely agree on SO and SSD....if you get one kit you've got them all. I see the same ellies kit after kit, and lots of the same colors repeatedly used too.

Anonymous said...

So has anyone ventured to P&Co to sign up in the new forum? Do you like it?

Anonymous said...

Has Steph completely left the Daily Digi? She hardly ever posts anymore. Did Janet take it back over?

Anonymous said...

There's nothing at P&Co that I want so I'm not going thru the hassle of signing up.

Anonymous said...

If something happened in the past with Gen, why would she be doing anything there? That seems like a ridiculous rumor.
-----------
The rumor has been going on for quite some time. I have no inside scoop to know if it's true or not, but I do know Gen can be a hothead and it's possible she threw a tantrum about something and now she and Mye have worked it out. But who knows. I don't really like either Gen or Mye so, meh.

I gave up on SO and SSD a while ago but I'll check out PBP.

Anonymous said...

I don't really like either Gen or Mye so, meh.
___
I bet they both lose sleep over it too.

Anonymous said...

I bet they both lose sleep over it too.
________________

Hi Gen! Glad to have you back here.

Anonymous said...

You're so clever, 90.

Anonymous said...

That Girl is closing once again.

Anonymous said...

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
I hate when designers do that. Open, close, open, close or retire, come back one month later, retire, come back four months later, etc. It makes them seem flaky.

Anonymous said...

#93 - I agree

Anonymous said...

is there a new smack blog or did all the drama in digiland stop?

Anonymous said...

#95 I'd like to know it too. For example, I was wandering:
☞ What do you think about P&CO April collab? For me: too expensive + too cutesy. Moreover, they should make it available before the month starts.
☞ What's your favourite store to buy digi goodies?
☞ Are there other sites offering PL-style subscriptions? I know the one P&Co and TLP but meh, I'm not sold yet.

Let's talk about it.

Anonymous said...

#96 - P&Co is definitely overpriced. I can't justify spending that much a month when I only like about 1/3 of what's in the subscription. This month was meh.

I'm a all over the place shopper when I have the funds. I like TDP designers the most though. There are a few at TDC, maybe 1-2 at SSD, and 1-2 at PBP.

Sorry I don't do PL so I'm no help there.

Anonymous said...

#96
Too expensive for me too. I like the designers, I like the kit, but I don;'t have the $$ for that.
I have a budget each week, so I pick my buys from The Digital Press, Lilypad, Oscraps, and sometimes ScrapStacks, Designer Digitals and Digital Design Essentials.

I'm still not sold on any of the subscriptions. I buy to use, I find it hard to say Ill buy in a sub, when I don't know if I will like what "they" put out next time! And again, damn pricey!

Anonymous said...

#98: I agree. IMO, the add-ons the designers are TLP do are sometimes better than what's in the monthly subscription too.

Anonymous said...

#98 I love Digital Design Essential too. She often has awesome sales :) And I also agree with #99, the add-ons are often better!

Anonymous said...

I like TLP designers..some a lot. However, whenever I'm looking for something specific, I can NEVER find it there. I always can find what I'm looking for at SSD. I guess I need to check out TDC and PBP these days. In the past, I really haven't cared much for those places but maybe they've changed. TDP is having a sale right now and there's some good deals there.

Anonymous said...

I really like the TLP subscription and Just Jamies Storyteller subscription too which are worth it!

Anonymous said...

What do you think of the new store at Digital Scrapbooking Studio?

Anonymous said...

Digital Design Essentials is having a sale right now.

Anonymous said...

Here's a question for everyone, do you think Digi Scrapping is here to stay or do you feel like its declining?

Anonymous said...

Digital Design Essentials is having a sale right now.
-----------------------------------------
What a lousy way to advertise.

Anonymous said...

#105 I think it is here to stay, but scrappers are more savvy with their money now, and shop more wisely, using more un-themed kits, and more staples as well as their stash.

Anonymous said...

P&CO FRIENDS PAGE: why are layouts exclusively posted by CT members? Do they still have customers? Where are all the digi-scrapbookers?

Anonymous said...

I agree with #107. I also think Like any new fad etc...everyone jumps on board and then eventually it levels out. I think it's leveling now.

Anonymous said...

#105 - it's been around for 15 years or thereabouts so I'm going to go with it being here to stay.

Anonymous said...

is there a new smack blog or did all the drama in digiland stop?
---------------------

I think with the decline of forums, a lot of the drama has stopped too.

Anonymous said...

Just visited TLP looking for sales and noticed a kit by Mindy Terasawa... she really needs to pay someone to do her previews for her, they're terrible

Anonymous said...

It's not just her previews... her entire store throws me back into 2005...

http://the-lilypad.com/store/view_all.php?manufacturerid=146

Anonymous said...

They are terrible. Has no one taught her about drop shadows?

Anonymous said...

#113 - you are so right! I had a Geocities moment when I saw her store.

Anonymous said...

Speaking of TLP....what the hell is up with their color palettes for the BYOC kits lately? They're horrible! Pink/red/yellow? ewww!!!

Anonymous said...

Best places to shop this weekend?

Anonymous said...

farmer's market and pickleberrypop so far

Anonymous said...

SO's farmers market, TDP $1 sale, sugar hill co's sale. Lots of good deals to be had around digiland!

Anonymous said...

Bella Gypsy's in the DigiFiles this month. Blech.

Anonymous said...

Hmm, tempted by MissTiina's whole sugarhillco store for $25, but have a lot of the stuff from the confectionery club years ago...

Anonymous said...

Speaking of SH&CO, I just found out by accident on FB that they are having a blog hop. It's an awesome one with lots of templates for papers if you're inclined to enjoy messing around with that type of thing.

Anonymous said...

Mscraps too, $1 sales changing every day

Anonymous said...

Pixels and Co has a big bundle.

Anonymous said...

105 -- I fear it is in decline.

I am seriously underwhelmed by this year's iNSD offerings, for example. Now, maybe that's just me. But a year ago, as I recall, there was some excitement and real energy, and some great new kits. I'm just not feeling it this year.

Anonymous said...

--
Oh, I disagree. I've had a great time this year with all the free stuff, new kits and discounted items. There were wonderful sales all over digiland.

Anonymous said...

105 -- I fear it is in decline.
__
It doesn't appear to be in decline at all. It's changed but not necessarily in a bad way.

Anonymous said...

Thanks 124. I hadn't seen that yet. I had a couple of the kits already, but it is still a good deal.

Anonymous said...

#125 - if you are solely thinking it's in decline because of iNSD, then it's already over. For me, iNSD hasn't had any excitement and energy for 5 or more years now. I agree with #127, it's certainly changed, and a lot in the last few years, but it's not in decline.

Anonymous said...

Dead this blog is.

Anonymous said...

Is there a new smack blog?

Anonymous said...

At least two designers leaving Scrap Orchard. Beginning of the end for them?

Anonymous said...

Nah. Designers move and designers retire. I don't think 2 is a sign.

Anonymous said...

Who are the two leaving Scrap Orchard?

Anonymous said...

SSD is hiring, maybe they're moving there. Who are they?

Anonymous said...

Etc by Danyale and Happy Scrap Girl are both leaving SO but they say they are retiring from designing, not moving to another store.

Anonymous said...

Etc. is not retiring.

Anonymous said...

Moving to sdd would certainly be a step up from so in my opinion.

Anonymous said...

Is anyone able to share previews from the digi files?

Anonymous said...

Etc. is not retiring.
-----------------------------------

I stand corrected. Her announcement about new directions and simplifying her life made it sound more like a retirement than a simple switch of shops. I'm curious to see where she ends up.

Anonymous said...

Any guesses as to who will join SSD? I've always wondered why Kristin Aagard isn't there. Her stuff would fit right in there imo. I would think she'd make more there?

Anonymous said...

139-There are only two kits worthy this month. One from Amber Shaw and another from Sweet Shoppe Designs. The rest are crap.

Anonymous said...

I guess it's a matter of personal taste. I wasn't crazy about the SSD contribution, but loved the Dream Big Designs kit. Also really liked the Amber Labau kit.

Anonymous said...

So, anyone have the goods on who might be applying to SSD?

Anonymous said...

The Scrap Stacks store is closing......

Anonymous said...

Wow, that didn't take long!

Anonymous said...

There's some drama involving Trixie Scraps. Is anyone surprised?

https://www.facebook.com/robinsismai/posts/973226969366076

Anonymous said...

Not surprised. She was extremely rude to me awhile back (not going into details or it would reveal myself) and I just killed her with kindness the whole time. I hope that really pissed her off even more. Sad thing is I used to look up to her as a designer even though I had heard others saying negative things about her. Then when she became a baby about what happened I definitely changed my opinion of her.

Anonymous said...

What is going on at scrapbookgraphics?
Blagovesta and Captivated Visions are both leaving and
going else where

Anonymous said...

I just noticed that too! I wonder what is going on.

Anonymous said...

Probably going to SSD

Anonymous said...

I don't think either of them would fit in at SSD at all. I doubt it is there.

Anonymous said...

Where was this announced? I don't see anything anywhere about either one leaving SBG. Was it posted somewhere?

Anonymous said...

So who do you think is going to SSD then?

Anonymous said...

Someone mentioned Kristin Aagard, I think she would fit right in. Don't know if she's willing to leave SO, I think she's supposed to be friends with Kami? A designer I would love to see go there would be Lisa Sisneros, aka Wildheart Designs. She would do well there imo. Forever Joy would be a good fit too. Who do you see?

Anonymous said...

Why would anything be going on SBG? Designers leave there all the time.

Anonymous said...

How do you decide if you like a new designer, besides product? Is it what store they're at? What stores do you think a newer designer should sell at??

Anonymous said...

Is there any other way to like a designer, besides product? You either like their stuff, or not??
If I like the kit, Ill buy it, and often will follow the designer with their newsletter. I buy purely based on if I like what they do. The store doesn't change if Ill buy it. With social media, and newsletters, I think if you love a designers style, the store is secondly. But in saying that, I do tend to forget the designer/owner who sells by themselves in their own tiny slice of the web.

Anonymous said...

I think it goes without saying, of course product is first. But like you said, if they aren't at a store, you tend to forget about them. So they need to have some type of store/forum attached? So are there stores, that if a designer sold at, you'd pass on their products just because of the store association??

I guess that's more my question, #158. Thank you for answering.

Anonymous said...

I don't think they have to have a store for me to check them out if I already know them. I will buy from a designer regardless of the store because I don't hold the store against them.

Anonymous said...

#160 - Thanks for answering.

Anonymous said...

I don't think I would ever avoid a designer just because I didn't like the store. However, if the designer was in a store that was "new" to me, there would probably be some inertia to opening up a account there and start shopping. I would probably stick to my familiar stores until I just couldn't resist her products anymore.

Anonymous said...

I agree with the above about new designers, I wouldn't hold a store choice against them if I like their products. However, there are designers I do like but like someone else mentioned, I forget about them and don't seem to remember to check their personal stores out very often. Ones that come to mind are SMJ, Brittish Designs, just to name a couple. I find it much easier if designers are in an actual store as that will increase the chances I even see their new products regularly.

Anonymous said...

Thank you all for answering!

Anonymous said...

Noticed Danyale of etc. by Danyale has started posting at TLP.....wonder if she's opening up shop there?

Anonymous said...

She's guesting at TLP in August, 165.

Anonymous said...

ahhh, thanks #166.

Anonymous said...

DailyDigi is horrible again this month.

Anonymous said...

A few of the new designers at SSD:
Vera Lim, Digital Scrapbook Ingredients, Amanda Yi, Studio Blagovesta

They all have post counts but you can't see any of the actual posts (I'm guessing that's because they're all in the designer only area). And their accounts were all created right when the designer call ended. I'm guessing that's not a coincidence.

Anonymous said...

Strange additions in my opinion. None really fit in with the current feel of the store except for Digital Scrapbook Ingredients. I'm guessing the others won't last.

Anonymous said...

Especially Amanda Yi, her quality is shocking, full of strays and gamut is always off.

Anonymous said...

Agree about amanda yi, Hopefully at ssd she might learn some quality control! I was put off buying anything else from her.

Anonymous said...

I was a little disappointed by Blagovesta joining ssd. her stuff is cute i guess but random for ssd/not really the style of the store. digital scrapbook ingredients is a good fit so i am looking forward to that. never seen vera lims or amanda yi's stuff.

Anonymous said...

Saw Erica Zane's newest release, Take Me to Church. Cute enough kit but I wonder if she understands the lyrics of Hozier's song?

Anonymous said...

I've never bought any of Amanda Yi's stuff, and the freebies I have I've never taken the time to QC them personally....but I wonder how these types of designers get into these so called "quality" stores like TDP or SSD without their products being checked before offers are made??

Anonymous said...

I'm pretty sure Simone (Two Tiny Turtles) is the fifth designer...so who's number 6?
Has anyone announced a store closing/move recently?

Anonymous said...

pretty sure when applying to ssd they had to supply an example of their work.

Anonymous said...

Captivated visions said she was moving stores. Could it be her?

Anonymous said...

Blagovesta is an amazing designer, just wished she wouldn't have
lowered herself to ssd. Captivated is so talented, but I feel she has lost her enthusiasm. I think they would both be great at TDP.

Anonymous said...

Is it just me or is the PCo forum a dread to visit now? And it's not as active as it was before either....??

Anonymous said...

Well that's what happens when 3/4 of your designing staff leaves...they take people with them. Also, they don't have a gallery anymore either, which I'm sure has decreased traffic. I don't really know how they're even still in business, to be honest.

Anonymous said...

I agree! IMO they are going to close before next year!

Anonymous said...

Do people still go in forums? I sure don't. It doesn't matter to me what the forum/gallery of a site is, just the store products.

Anonymous said...

I like Studio Calico forum (even though I am a digi-kinda-gal) and I am also looking into the LilyPad Forum.

Anonymous said...

Some people still use forums but I think a lot of the action has moved to store fan pages on Facebook.

Anonymous said...

Do you people still even do the challenges? If you do, where's your go to challenge forum?

I agree, not sure if PCo is going to make it a year. It will be a surprise if they do like this.

Anonymous said...

If there's a template, I'll grab it but I almost never complete challenges.

Anonymous said...

Oh so you grab the free template/mini kit/word art, but don't complete the challenge. Nice.

Anonymous said...

Oh so you grab the free template/mini kit/word art, but don't complete the challenge. Nice.
----------------------------------------
Trust me. I spend plenty in digiscrap stores. I don't feel a lick bad about grabbing a free template now and then.

Anonymous said...

I used to love Vera Lim's stuff but now that she popped up at SSD, her stuff looks just like every other designer at SSD. She used to have more of a Anna BV Designs look (who I also love). Same thing happened to Flergs. Used to love her too but now it looks like everyone else's at SSD. It's like part of their requirements are for every new designer to change their style to match every other kit in the shop. They have no variety at all. So sick of that shop. I'm sad that Blagovesta moved there. I agree that SBG wasn't a good fit for her anymore but stopping to SSD wasn't either. Same thing for Captivated Visions if she pops up there.

Kristin Aagard is probably the one keeping sales coming in to SO, so not sure she'll leave there unless she's tired of putting up with Kami's shit like most other designers eventually do.

I like vera lims releases however her previews are awful.

I see a day in the not so distant future when TLP and SO combine to become one store.

Anonymous said...

Never. But glad to see more designers leaving SO.

The DSP blog train is pretty nice this time!

I agree!

The only one I didn't download was the one from Inside Pixels. It was nothing special and required an awful lot of effort to get (registering on her site, "buying" via PayPal, etc.).

Who is Tinci Designs in the Scrap Pack this month? The templates look a lot like Little Green Frog's templates.

Anonymous said...

#193 who else has left SO? I used to go there but haven't for quite a while, I only stop in during farmer's market to see what's in there.

#196: I don't know. I thought the same thing except that Little Green Frog knew how to use drop shadows well and Tinci doesn't.

She used to sell at Scrap Stacks. She's using Scrap Orchard packaging for the Scrap Pack and her FB says 13 days until she is coming back, so that would be 8/6 so she must be opening at SO then.

#193: Createwings is retiring. Etc. by Danyale left. Megan Turnidge left a while back to go to either SSD or TLP and then retired.

Ugh, Captivated Visions is the last new designer at SSD. I was so hoping it wasn't going to be her.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
with you on that one.

Anonymous said...

Are you hoping it wasn't going to be her in a good way, like she's too good for SSD or bad way?

Anonymous said...

I don't think her style fits SSD.

Anonymous said...

Oh, give her a minute. Her designs will look like every other designer there before you know it. They all do. Flergs, Vera Lim, Blagovesta, all look like SSD already.

I agree, as soon as a new designer hits SSD they start to look just like everything else that's there.

I think Captivated Visions would've been a better fit at TLP. The styles there are more diverse.

Berna is leaving scrapbook graphics

That's interesting since several of their kits were previously sold at their other stores...

Hey Rachel-Captivated Visions,
thanks for the freebie. It's a bit old and I've already downloaded it from SBG blog like 2 years ago, but who cares, right?
