Name-calling is always an effective way to win an argument and a clear indication of one's maturity level. Obviously, I'm wasting my time trying to reason with you, so you go right on thinking what you want. Wonder why this has struck such a nerve with you, though. Is it possible that you're so offended because you are who you think I you are and I called you on your bullshit? Probably so.
-------

You have no clue who I am and you haven't struck a nerve as I don't live in any place that celebrates Thanks Giving. I'm just tired of your pretentious twaddle.

Digi Files previews, please.

#191 from last month... I found the info in the thread over at SSD regarding the monthly challenges for Dec. To quote Robin:

"Finally, while our Pinterest challenges have been fun for us to come up with over the last two years, and we've loved seeing what you do with the inspiration, we've decided to take a more relaxed play-to-win approach to challenges in 2014. We look forward to sharing our fun weekly program with you in the New Year, so we hope you'll stay tuned and dive in when you're inspired by something you see!"

No matter what you say, someone is going to misinterpret it and then accuse of you meaning or implying something totally different than what you actually intend.

I bought the Holiday Hoopla at MSA - for $5 I'm pleased with it, but it's kind of a random assortment of stores/designers. After looking at everything I have to say there's a reason SSD and P&Co are considered top tier, definitely my faves of the group. I can see why people complain that SSD is unorginal, it does look like more of the same but I like it - if it ain't broke don't fix it. I was pleasantly surprised by Scrap Art Studio who I hadn't heard of before, and Snips and Snails part was better than I expected too. PBP was just meh for me, but I don't really shop there or like their style as much. I deleted most of Altered Amanda, not my style. Oscraps had some nice things, and some was meh. OSD was hit and miss, I feel like some of their stuff was dated, like I was unzipping a kit from 2007.

I have taken an extended break from digi, but decided to look around a bit this morning. Holy hell, DD is so old and fusty. It's always had a fair share of grannies, but holy shit, that place is overrun with serious old lady stuff. Katie needs blow the cobwebs outta that place.

Anonymous said...

Obviously it must be selling, 6, or it wouldn't be there. Katie's never had trouble bringing $ into that shop.

Anonymous said...

Grannies gotta shop somewhere, #6.

Anonymous said...

It's like SSD-there seems to be a steady market for crap.

Anonymous said...

It never ceases to amaze how different demographics like such different things. I find the older ladies like really digital looking stuff. But hey ... They have money and they have time for their hobbies ... Why not market to that? Seems smart to me.

Oh, you're full of it. Please direct me to the statistics which are your source for such a-pile-of-shit statement. What never ceases to amaze me is when idiots attempt to sound intelligent.

I have to have statistics to support an observation? I don't think so.

Has anyone here tried the free 5gb cloud storage from Amazon? What do you think of it?

A few months I commented about receiving spam mail from godigitalscrapbooking. I had asked to be removed from their newsletter 2 times and the 3rd time I reported them as spam.

Since then, I have received their newsletter every week.

What the hell is wrong with them!

14, I only use that to store music. I've never tried to UL anything DS-related to it. But I'm a big fan of EHDs, and I don't like to UL/DL from The Cloud. I'm too impatient.

No one owes you previews. You've asked or demanded twice. Give it a rest.

Simply deleting the newsletter once a week is less (much) work than bitching about it here. Is it really that big of a deal?

Unfortunately for us, you don't appear to "think" period given your logic or lack of it. Blanket statements such as the one you made regarding older people was ignorant no matter how you attempt to justify it. People like you NEVER have facts to back up what they say. Why? Because what they say is based on innuendo, half-truths and outright lies.

17- Yes I know people swear....hell they do it all the time on this blog. But in a store that is all "high and mighty" as some people say would not be the place to have something like that. That type of item would belong in one of these poser type of stores. And I wasn't trying to be a goody goody. I swear too.. Sounds like you are just bitter or one of the SSDers that lurk here getting their panties in a wad.

Actually it was based on my personal observations from spending time in forums. No half-truths, no innuendo, no lies (WTF are you talking about anyway? Inneundo???)

I have the right to form MY OPINION based on MY EXPERIENCES.

I could understand the backlash if I had said it had been proven, shown, demonstrated, etc, but I didn't ... I made an observation based on my own experiences and I stand by it. It's not a lie because it truthfully represents what I believe.

Opinions don't have to be right, they are opinions, not facts.

I'm not the OP but the way I took this statement, was that the person was saying she was enjoying those promotions w/ the daily downloads. I didn't assume from reading the post that she meant that she knew anything about those shop's sales so far this week.

Anonymous said...

#33, I *am* OP and 37 is right, I was stating that the promotion they're doing is personally enjoyable to me- I like what they're offering in the promotion in each store. I have no freakin' clue if it's successful for the store, or even decent. I know that I'm enjoying it. I appreciate that SSD is doing some coupons and some downloads, and I think the preview for the P&Co collab is pretty and I'm sad I missed the first download.

All I was stating was an opinion, and then asking if there were any others worth checking out. No facts needed, it was just an opinion. You really don't have to demand facts from everyone on here- it is a smack blog with a LOT of opinion-based statements.

Anonymous said...

I'm an older scrapper and my money is the same as a younger scrapper. The only difference is I possibly have more disposable income than younger scrappers. It's not smart marketing IMO to write older scrappers off. ........and to #6 I find your comment about 'serious old lady stuff' seriously ignorant and offensive. What makes you so damned special that you can sit in judgement of older people. I don't fancy having you as a daughter or granddaughter. You sound like a spoiled brat!!

Re: 12 - The wordart card in that kit is by Traci Reed actually, and the kit has 2 versions in it. (one with the swear word and one without) It didn't bother me to have the swearing version when I bought it, but I could totally see how someone might get their panties in a twist over it.

Immature designers are more concerned with having people like them. Successful designers make what sells - even if it's old granny products.

Designers might want to start asking customers what they want to buy instead of their CTMs - most of who are in the young, have no extra money category. They're not your customers.

If no one is buying what you're making,

If no one is buying what you're making, you're listening too much to your friends and CTMs and not to the marketplace.

The SSD Advent "promo" is a joke. Four days so far and three of them have been coupons.

Oh for God's sake, give it a rest. Just look at the previews as they show up on the Daily Digi and buy it on the last day if you like it. No one wants to waste time loading up previews and then linking them up for you here, cheapskate.

#26 Mscraps is doing 12 days of Christmas I'm not sure when it starts tho

Anonymous said...

Anything that has you tied to your computer every day during the busiest month of the year is annoying. I'd rather just buy a kit and be done. The whole sale thing at SSD is also annoying. Thanks for making something 30% off yesterday and now it's 50% off today.

Anonymous said...

#53 - Yeah, let's get mad at them for selling products for 50% off because it's not convenient for you.

Anonymous said...

I hardly think downloading something each day qualifies as being "tied I your computer." You managed to check this blog.

Amen, 1:14. I can't believe people are complaining about free stuff.

Anonymous said...

I'm 56, and I just have to chime in about the daily notices someone mentioned. I hate it when I get emails daily. One on the first day telling me about it, and maybe one on the last. I'm following PCO on their FB and they have something about it show up a few times a day in my newsfeed, and even that seems a bit too much for me.

If your intent is to be extremely annoying, you're accomplishing your goal. However, you're also showing how much of an immature jerk you are. You don't appear to get that making a stupid, juvenile statement regarding "older scrappers" is not the same as people giving opinions regarding designs and stores. It'd be great if growing up is in your future but I kinda doubt it.

I'm personally a fan of the coupons. I loved being able to pick up a few things at 50% off (used to be rare at SSD, but it seems they've been doing a lot of 50% off promotions lately). I love the downloads, too, but I think mixing in coupons is a good way to make the season stretch a little.

Also, I think the advent downloads matching the thing they did at Ali Edwards is a good choice. Just my opinion.

It's really not confusing. They simply started the thing on the 2nd instead of the1st. If it's such a "fail" to you, you don't HAVE to download the daily FREE gifts. Sounds like it would be lots less stressful for you and we wouldn't have to read your posts complaining about it all.

Anonymous said...

Why should I have to unsubscribe? I signed up for a reason. I like getting their new release newsletter. I like hearing what's going on. I don't like getting daily reminders like I'm a child.

Set a reminder on your phone. Follow them on FB. Stick a note on the fridge. There are plenty of ways for you (global) to remember.

Anonymous said...

21, I asked once. Someone else asked the first time. I said please and thanks. Are those offensive words where you come from? This may be a smack blog, but I still hoped the words "please" and "thanks" would be appreciated by whomever decided to post the previews.

And 25, thanks for the explanation. I'm sure they did that to stop people from posting them here. (And you can't blame them.) Unfortunately, the names of the designers alone this month do not entice me to join back up. I appreciate you taking the time to tell us no one can post the previews.

Anonymous said...

39, you should be able to scrap however you like using whatever supplies you like.

The problem of "old" versus "young" is not a new prejudice. Think about where "young whippersnappers" shop for clothes versus "old people." I used to work in a mall, and the Chico's and Coldwater Creek employees used to complain about Hot Topic people. Guess who the Hot Topic emo employees complained about?

Just because a style doesn't suit your taste doesn't mean it's bad. It's just not for you. But 39, you only feed into the "old people" prejudice by bringing up the whole daughter/granddaughter thing. You're on the same smack blog as this young'un, reading the same snarky smack, so be careful: post 6 may just be your daughter. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

Which brings up my other issue: When older generations complain about how crappy young people are today and "how back in my day, kids respected their elders!" Guess what, the responsibility is on you: You raised this young generation's parents, so if the youngsters act like brats, then it's because you raised shitty kids who became shitty parents. Good job.

Where are the traditional designers posting product ads at now days? I used to be able to find posts in the Facebook groups but now most of them seem to have been taken over by trashing tube shit. I know they're in various forums, Pinterest, etc. but the DST's of the world seem to have died off and the Facebook groups have gone trashy, so where are the gathering places now?

Anonymous said...

I think it has less to do with age, and more to do with taste and personality. I'm sure I would qualify as an older lady, and I really can't stand digital looking stuff. But I'm not into cartoon-y kits, either.

Anonymous said...

this is the most pointless argument ever..

Anonymous said...

I think I would be encouraged (enticed) to buy more if I could see more kits at a decent size in one fell swoop. For instance, and not to pick on the Lily Pad, I received the newsletter for BYOC and I like the colors. I go to the store and the thumbnails are tiny. To see each one, I have to click on each one, but I don't have time for all of them, so I just click on the ones from the few designers I like whose label I recognize in the thumbnails. I was thinking they could really show off all the kits if they used that same off-site slide show the DST Blog uses. Different stores have handled this differently, some you can hover over, and some like P&C & MScraps you can click to make really big, love this feature, but a slide show would show every single new release and not take much time (for the shopper).

Anonymous said...

I like that idea for a slide show for TLPs BYoC too, and just a helpful hint also, not being snarky..if you hold CONtrol and the PLUS sign + your screen gets bigger...helps for the store thumbnails? minus to go smaller-
.as one of the old ladies here my eyes ain't what they used to be...hahha..but my bank account is better than when I was a young un' <----bit of snark I know
all in fun...smack on

This type of piracy always boggles my mind anyway, but I really don't get why she didn't at least mix the packs up some so that they aren't identical, it's like she's begging to be caught.

100, I'm not the OP but too bad websites/companies are not required to respect your "do not track" request. So what else can I do besides set my options in FF to "do not track"? (That's not a snarky comment: I'm literally asking if there's something else I can do.)

Anonymous said...

I see that Josy Carson has a Reseller License in her shop that says you can resell any of her products in their original form in your own store. Maybe Charly (whoever that is) purchased that license.

Anonymous said...

Good lord not Charly again!

Anonymous said...

Wow - 108 - I see that too! That is crazy that a designer would allow that but I suppose she might have gotten $100 out of Charly plus the $$ for the products purchased. Though I think she's just begging for piracy of her designs because everyone will think someone bought that license and never question them. I would never buy from someone who was just repackaging and selling someone else's work with no changes at all even if it's OK to do so.

Anonymous said...

Leigh Penrod buys Josy's stuff and resells it big time, too

I have been trying to buy scrapbooking supplies at the sales- PBP, SSD, PCO, SO- but I am having a difficult time finding anything that I haven't seen a dozen times before. Is anybody else having the same problem? I like the looks of PCO Holiday collaboration, I appreciate their generosity, and I would like to support them, BUT when I browse the majority of the designers' shops, they all look the same- a few frames, bows, ribbons, papers, and flairs (except creashens so far)- stuff that seems to be very common and mundane and easy to produce- very little for what you pay even at 50% off. Even if you are going for the sparse look, I would think the repetitiveness of the product would be boring. You could take the designers' name off of the kits, and you wouldn't know one designer from the other for many of them. I am saying this as someone who really, really wants to shop there.

The other stores seem to have more variety in terms of elements, themes, target audiences, etc., although a lot of their stuff is beginning to look the same. Does anyone else notice this??

Anonymous said...

When I shop PCO, I look at their papers. That's where I think they stand out. I would say that SSD is the worst offender. I can't even tell their kits apart.

Anonymous said...

I will look at their papers. I have found some of creashens stuff I will buy today since it is half off. I agree with you on the fact that a lot of SSD stuff looks alike, but what I like about them is that they are doing some "emotionally" based stuff in addition to the same old themes that everyone does, and that stuff is pretty decent. I haven't found too many kits at other stores that are as usable as the SSD kits are in that category.

Really you think Create Wings or MLE Card @SO are like all the rest?
since they hand draw/paint everything themselves, not sure what you meant.
I just recently saw Anna BV Designs @PBP she has diff stuff, also like Seatrout
PCO pretty much agree with you
SSD I like Penny, few things from Studio Basic
I'm not associated with any of the stores- just found your post questionable.

Anonymous said...

I'm 120. No, No, I did not mean Createwings (although some of her stuff has similar elements and "feel" to them, so I am careful what I buy) or MLE (I own tons of her stuff). But in general, I find a lot of the designers at SO have the same feel. Anna BV reminds of Createwings to some degree, and I looked at her stuff, but nothing stood out.Her stuff is decent, but nothing jumped out at me to say "Hey, buy me."

For some reason, I have very little from Penny at SSD although I like some of Studio Basic's stuff.

Overall, I was making a general comment that so many designers are using the same themes and elements or similar enough they just blend together- tons of flowers, etc. It could be that I own enough that I just can't find something that would be different enough from what I have that I want to purchase it. I don't know.

Ditto this. I also like the color combos used in a lot of their kits. Since most of them appear to cater to a more simple scrapping look, it's no surprise their elements are fewer and similar to each other.

I wish TLP would compete more with discounts. SSD has 50%-40% off, P&CO & SO is having a 50%off designers whole store. TLP only has 20-25% off I would really like to see a bigger discount if only for the Advent/December Deals. Am I the only one who thinks this way?

I also agree with the opinion that TLP is not competitive in their sales. I do appreciate their Wednesday SOSN 50% deals, but that's only on selected items. In fact, the SOSN is what got me to start shopping in their store. What I really wish is that they would discount the BYOC a little bit more. With my budget I can never reach the buy more spend more levels.

Anyone wondering why an inordinate amount of designers have had a cardinal in their "Wonderland" sampler at SO? They should have had a sign up sheet: "2 people for cardinals, 2 people for owls, 1 person for a stupid fox, 2 for deer. The rest of you get to figure out a different 'wintery' element." Maybe a robin, perhaps? Or, if you're from the South (or Australia/other warm-at-Christmas places) they could have a sand dollar or beachy element or a cactus or something to represent a different take on the theme. I know this isn't a big deal, and I DO appreciate the sale; however, even if the quality of the freebies are great, the items are starting to blend together. That doesn't help individual designers stand out as special (and worth buying from).

I have a facebook question I'm hoping someone could help with. I have "liked" several digi designers but recently none of their updates show up on my wall. The only way I can see their announcements/posts is if I manually go to each of their Facebook pages.

Is there a certain setting I need to change to allow their posts to show up? Or is this just a new Facebook policy? Thanks!

Anonymous said...

136, if you're not interacting with those pages on a daily basis, FB figures you don't want to see their updates. Stupid, I know, and frustrating for designers. You'll need to go to their page, click on the "like" button, and there will be a drop down menu with the option to see their updates always. Hope that helps.

Anonymous said...

there is a setting, you have to make sure after you click like you select ALL UPDATES. but interaction with the pages helps a lot

Anonymous said...

136 yes it's a new Facebook thing. It is hiding most posts from people's newsfeeds now to try to get page owners to pay for advertising. If you do what 137 said that will help. Choose "get notifications" and you will hear whenever your favorite pages post.

Anonymous said...

Thanks for the Facebook help! :) I don't use it very much.

Anonymous said...

Sorry, I meant to say I don't use Facebook very much & just when I get it figured out, Facebook changes something. lol...

Is there a way to organize your "liked" websites in Facebook, or is it just organized in order of when you liked them. That's one reason I don't use Facebook very much is it seems so clunky & unable to organize things in a better way.

Anonymous said...

Yes, you can organize them into Interest Lists. Go to your About section, then your Likes. Mouse over a page that you want to group with others and then mouse over the Liked that shows up. Click on Add to Interest Lists and do this with each page that you want in the group before you move on. I find it easier than adding them later but you can search later and add them to the group. When you have all the pages you want then click New List on one of them, make sure all the pages are checked and then name your new list. This will allow you to organize designers by store, or favorites, or whatever you prefer. This grouping will now show up under your Interests (bottom left) on your Home Page. When you click on the group, it will show you a feed of the posts from all those pages and you will also be able to go to those pages from the list on the right. I hope that helps you!

http://www.onestorydown.com/idw-family-time-monopolypieces

Same designer has the Monopoly pieces, including the new cat, in her store, also. As far as I know, the pieces are also trademarked, and these aren't just "similar creations." They're pretty spot-on to the real deal, as though they were photographed and then extracted.

Apparently OSD doesn't care about infringements.

Anonymous said...

So, can someone tell SSD designers that unless their kit specifically needs one of those little antique labels to match the theme, then they shouldn't include one? I don't mind it with vintage style kits, or kits where there's a down-home feel, or kits that are food-related.

But, Erica Zane, why in my pretty new day/fresh start kit, do I need a Cottage Cheese label? It has NOTHING to do with the theme OR the style of the kit, and now I'm starting to feel like designers are just saying "Oh, maybe I need one more element for the kit... eh, just chuck one of those labels into it, that'll round it out!" Um, no. Not how it works.

If only designers there would TRY to stick with the overall feel/style throughout a kit. EZ isn't the only offender-- just the most recent one.

Anonymous said...

Nice observation, 144. I didn't even notice it was there until I looked for it.

I think the overall feel of a kit should be consistent. But do you like designers who have 1 consistent style throughout, or do you think they can have different styles in different kits? I'm having Red Ivy in mind. All her kits are pretty similar. I used to like them, but have stopped buying them. Or maybe it is to the designer's benefit that people can recognize their kits without even looking at who made it?

Anonymous said...

144 here... I feel like adjusting or changing style between kits is fine. The only thing that bugs me is when a kit itself isn't cohesive. It's one reason I sometimes have trouble buying store collabs-- because when designers each chip in a few bits, the whole kit feels disjointed.

I see the benefit in being able to look at a kit and say "That's Zoe," or "Clearly Mye" or something... but at the same time, after buying another Traci kit, I'm bored... it's the same old, same old. And before anyone mentions CU v Hand-drawn, not everyone, myself included, likes the damn hand-drawn style! And further, even different hand-drawings done by the same person eventually run together after awhile.

Sorry, 145... a whole novel for a straightforward question.

Anonymous said...

145 here, and I agree with you. I like P&Co's store collabs because their designers all have about the same style. And I agree that hand-drawings become similar... like mle Card's! On the other hand, I can pretty much mix several of her kits and make it work.

Anonymous said...

why does scrap orchard think that asking me to like a designer on facebook to get a freebie is a great marketing idea? I simply unlike them once I'm done getting the link...

Anonymous said...

Well, we designers who give out freebies on FB are just hoping that not all of the people who like them enough to "like" the page and download them are jerks and will stay "liking" the page in order to get the news about our new releases, sales, more freebies etc. There are tons of freebie hunters out there like you and we probably don't even notice you liking and unliking our pages, and we're not missing out on your "like" because you are not the kind to buy anything anyway.

Anonymous said...

Because I'm sure there are many like me who stay liking the page. Personally I'm not big into FB and I don't ever look at my newsfeed but SO does this type of thing often. It's easier to stay liking the pages than to like and unlike each time.

Anonymous said...

I wish designers would separate their alphas. I know that some people like the sheets, but not I. That is all.

Anonymous said...

151 said "Well, we designers who give out freebies on FB are just hoping that not all of the people who like them enough to "like" the page and download them are jerks and will stay "liking" the page in order to get the news about our new releases, sales, more freebies etc."

Not everyone who "unlikes" a page is a freebie hunter (and your use of the term "jerk" to describe a freebie hunter is unwarranted: there wouldn't be freebie hunters if there weren't any freebies to hunt. Facebook for freebies is like shooting fish in a barrel from bed while eating bon bons and watching TV: you don't even have to blog hop, you just go from page to page). Instead of being a freebie hunter, maybe someone, like myself, downloaded your freebie, unzipped it, and then realized it was a big, steaming pile? But good job blaming your audience. Stop putting up a freebie if you don't like the results. Why buy the milk and all that. Or, maybe you can only access the freebie after you've liked the page for a week. And if you miss a freebie, then you miss it and you'll get what's now available.

Or...stop giving out freebies. Wait, I already stated such a thing. Or understand that, if you're a part of a free kit given out by your store, then this is just the nature of the digi beast.

Anonymous said...

154, never in my post did I mention freebie hunters are jerks. I download freebies myself, and thank the designers for giving them out. I'm using the term for people like 150, who like and unlike a page just to get the download link, and question at the same time why designers bother asking them to like the page in the first place. That, to me, just sounds ungrateful. Downloading freebies being easy on FB is not an excuse. You should look at the preview (and if there is no preview, you're free to not like and download the freebie) and decide for yourself if it's going to be useful to you or not. If the quality of the freebie is indeed so bad, feel free to unlike the page and never look back. However, that is, again, not what 150 is doing.

I put up freebies on Facebook willingly, and I do like the results. Because unlike 150 and as I've stated in my reply, not everyone is unappreciative. I do get sales and marketing results out of the freebies I give out, so I do like the results. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I don't notice people liking and unliking my page. It just bothers me to see people admitting to the act.

Anonymous said...

So how about Krystal Hartley's top ten interview on the SSD blog?
-----
Odd. Very odd. You know, I think this lady is quite talented, however, she is massively insecure IMO and because of that, she comes off as very strange. It's unfortunate because she's attractive and, like I said, talented. Too bad she doesn't appear to know that about herself.

Anonymous said...

#154 not only are YOU the jerk but you also appear to not know how to read.

Anonymous said...

"You should look at the preview"

This is not always possible because many designers HIDE the preview on their Facebook freebie page. There is some generic graphic that says "like me for a free download" (or something similar) & there is no picture of the actual download.

I've tried looking for an actual preview but I don't have time to search around the internet to find it. Sometimes it's faster to press "like" then "unlike" right away if it's not your style.

Anonymous said...

I did say "and if there is no preview, you're free to not like and download the freebie." Do you see the difference between "liking the page to see the preview, not liking what is offered, and unliking the page" and "liking the page, downloading the freebie, unliking the page, then going onto the smack blog and complain about having the like the page to download the freebie (which 150 did)"?

156 - Krystal is also very overweight, which is likely where her insecurity comes from. I think she adds to that whole "but she has such a pretty face" thing people always say to overweight people by constantly posting deceptive selfies. There is nothing confident about that.

Anonymous said...

I'm probably worse than the like/unlikers. If you're a designer on a blog train I like, but I don't REALLY care about your updates, I'll stay liked, but click "don't show in newsfeed". I've probably liked 100 designer pages, but I see 5 - 10 in my newsfeed. Part of that is from store hopping, as a customer, over the last few years, I'm too lazy to go unlike all the pages I don't need anymore.

Anonymous said...

At least Krystal is confident enough to post under her own name. I think she comes across as honest and seems willing to be vulnerable online which takes courage. What we see in others is a projection of how we see ourselves. She seems lovely and kind and I'm not sure why anyone cares if she posts plenty of selfies, or why it seems like a good use of time to cut her down. It is rather an ugly thing to do actually.

She obviously is unhappy with herself because she only shows part of her body (i.e. shots of her face that make it appear really slim when it's not, her cleavage, her eyes). I think she's really insecure and that's really sad to me. She's attractive and talented but that doesn't appear to be enough for her.

I bet Lynnette is in a new store by Feb. If not, she's going to teach some sort of "faves" class. This "new adventure" stuff is just a way to get huge sales-- she even posted in the forums "these are my last products this year." on her previous new release.

Anonymous said...

My guess about Lynnette is that she hasn't ever had great sales at SSD, and it isn't worth her time. She doesn't release often enough to make REAL money there, and her templates are over-priced enough that I doubt they sell in bulk. The price point on templates is so low compared to kits that template designers need to put out about 2x as much product in order to make the same amount of money. She doesn't do that, and never will.

I agree with 180 that she's probably going to move into selling classes. Maybe even at that site Traci Reed sells classes at, Scrapneers or whatever it is.

Anonymous said...

I'm positive Lynnette's biggest selling point has, and always has been, her albums. Any template designer can make templates, but she has a way with cohesive albums that look nice.
However, she's gotten so into making them sizes that her affiliate prints in, and making them PL compatible, that the standard 12x12 or otherwise square scrapper can't use most of her albums. I'm sure it cost her some sales... there were complaints in the forums every time she released one in a non-standard size.

Anonymous said...

Did y'all see Jacinda's comment in the retirement thread at SSD? "Sad she won't be selling in the shop anymore" or something to that effect. So, is that a hint she'll be selling elsewhere, or just a weird way of wording things?

Anonymous said...

Maybe like #181 said, she might sell classes at Scrapaneers instead, so she might be leaving SSD as a designer.
