199- who?

Anonymous said...

198-I'm not 197, but I see her point. I agree it's undignified because things like that should be private between the designer and the applicant. It looks like they are groveling.

Anonymous said...

Miss Vivi & Karen Lewis.

Anonymous said...

Miss Vivi is a familiar name, but never heard of Karen Lewis before.

Anonymous said...

I have bought a few of Karen's kits. Her stuff at half off is worth a look.

Anonymous said...

I wonder if Karen Lewis is just retiring in general. She left TDC only a year or so ago, right?

Anonymous said...

Her blog and/or newsletter (can't remember exactly) said she was going to sell her digi scrapbook stuff, along with other kinds of design (?) on Etsy. She didn't elaborate on what other kinds of things she would be doing or I missed it which is entirely possible! Don't know if she was at TDC a year or so ago..didn't become aware of her until she was at SBG.

_______________
That's because some of them are. KCB does wonderful work and I've bought lots of her work, however, I still can't understand the whole CT allure. Never will. Cudos to those who do it though. I enjoy looking at your pages!

Anonymous said...

I still can't understand the whole CT allure.

^^^ I'd rather pay full price any day for a kit (or wait for a sale). All that butt kissing to the designer HAS to be exhausting; it's just not my nature to glorify someone for simply doing his/her job.

Anonymous said...

It looks like they are groveling.
-
A lot of them ARE! It's sickening.

Anonymous said...

197 - How is it undignified? And with an attitude like yours, I'm sure they don't need or want someone like you. Thanks.

---

I'm not 197 but I agree. It's like publicly requesting people to beg for a spot and it's kinda sad actually. It's also a LOT of FREE advertising for the designer to do a ct call that way.

Anonymous said...

Lol - okay y'all. I suppose I understand your point about the public-ness of it, but I don't see it as a negative thing. I've helped a couple designers do CT calls before, and the public ones like this are quick and easy to do compared to dealing with a TON of emails. You have all the examples right there to see at a quick glance. I don't see it as groveling, but then I love her work and would LOVE to be on her CT. Just don't have time for it right now. Have fun disagreeing with her method. I'm sure you wouldn't be a good fit for her team anyways. Cheers!

Anonymous said...

It's "anyway." I hope you don't journal like that. If you do, seems like you wouldn't be a good fit either. Cheers!

---
I've done a few ct calls myself and no matter how much "work" it was to do it privately, I did it as do most of my colleagues. It just seems more professional that way. To me, that's part of a designer's job (or whomever she designates/compensates to help) to go through "ALL those e-mails" regardless of how much work it is.

Anonymous said...

I don't see it as groveling, but then I love her work and would LOVE to be on her CT.

Save YOUR groveling for the public forum at SSD. butt kissing is wasted here.

Why do designers guest at other stores? What's the purpose and how is it beneficial to both the store and the designer? Thanks.

Not one person said it was the first time this has been done. That doesn't make it any less unprofessional.

I thought some sounded like they were groveling especially when they talked about their Friday nights. Is a free kit that important that you would commit all your Friday nights?

There are designers that stay there a long time too. Neither one of those two designers seemed to be doing very much of anything. Never heard of Karen Lewis and I thought missvivi retired long ago as there has been nothing new from her in ages.

I feel calls should be private too. That way a) we aren't all privy to the grovelling and desperation and b) we aren't all privy to who does NOT get chosen.

I am a designer and I can see right through grovelling and but kissing and don't put those people on my team. I only put people on my team I genuinely like working with - it's a small team but it's a fantastic team.

I don't require eqo-boosting from them.

Anonymous said...

I only saw a few in the KCB call thread that were a bit shameless and one even admitted she was begging. Most just seem excited and are customers or fans. I don't see anything wrong with saying, "hey I'm a customer and I love your work enough to buy it."

Most of the pages submitted are pretty decent, but there are definitely some stinkers. Shouldn't be tough to weed those out.

Anonymous said...

Look, if it had been done at MSA, DSA or DST or one of those places, then I'd agree it's a bit unprofessional, but doing the call on home turf where your fans and customers are seems reasonable to me.

Maybe that kind of call has been done a lot but think about it. If you're not picked, then you're kind of publicly humiliated - because everyone who applied is on the thread.

Anonymous said...

I applied and have no problem doing so in public. If not chosen, I wouldn't feel embarrassed at all. I'd think it's because she only had so many spots and didn't feel I was right for one of them. No shame for me in that.

Anonymous said...

If you're not picked, then you're kind of publicly humiliated -
---------

Only if you are inclined that way. Wouldn't bother me in the least. It's like a competition, there can only be so many winners.

Anonymous said...

If not chosen, I wouldn't feel embarrassed at all. I'd think it's because she only had so many spots and didn't feel I was right for one of them. No shame for me in that.
-----------

Exactly.

Anonymous said...

Those who applied in the thread are apparently okay with the method so I don't see why others should feel bothered by that. It's all about the designer and her fans. The way I see it, guest CTs are for giving back to fans anyway. (Conditions stated clearly that you have to post layouts with her products.) Since they are all fans, compliments to the designer are natural. I'm talking in general here as I've never been her customer. Not my scrapping style.

Anonymous said...

I wouldn't apply to a public call. Not that I'm humiliated when I'm not picked, but that doesn't mean I want to make a show of it, either.

Anonymous said...

Now Thaty? Is SO a designer killer or what? How many designers have they killed over the past few years. I wonder if they are really difficult to work with.

Anonymous said...

Yep

Anonymous said...

I'm the original poster about the public ct call. I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought it was undignified. To those that thought it was fine, that's fine too--go for it. I didn't bring it up to make it a controversy at all. I just wrote my opinion. I can still do that. I'll stay with the ladies that treat me with dignity though. I've never bought any of her kits. Her store looks good though. I just dislike her way of choosing a CT.

Anonymous said...

I'd love to have a couple CT's for no reason other than I'm spending waaaay to much money lately on artwork. I think I'm a pretty good scrapper but there is NO way I'm comfortable enough putting my application page on an open board for everyone to judge. But that's just me. I'm a little more shy like that. I wasn't familiar with her. I like her stuff when I looked in the store but I don't think I could do the call. I hope that she picks a some people who already don't have a gazillion stores. Carrie1977 and CarolinaScrapper, and others ... let some others have a chance. I'm sure you aren't lacking in new content...

Anonymous said...

What's most obnoxious about the CT call is the "Must be able to scrap Friday nights, as Kristin is usually working till the last minute" part. Get your shit together and get stuff to your CT with more than a few hours notice.

Anonymous said...

48 CarolinaScrapper is a pirate from the site baby gaga. I hope she doesn't get picked. So is a girl named Amanda Yi.

Anonymous said...

Now Thaty? Is SO a designer killer or what? How many designers have they killed over the past few years. I wonder if they are really difficult to work with.

-----

People on this blog are quick to assume that it is the site's fault when designers leave the top stores. Maybe some of these people simply can't compete with the best designers in top stores. Maybe they don't fulfill the obligations they agreed to and were asked to leave. Maybe they just thought that they would move in to a top store and expect the money to start flowing without having to put in an effort. Top stores are not about to keep people who are falling short. If they did they may end up turning into a store where there are only one or two designers putting out product and everyone on here complaining about that.

I would expect a store like SO to have a business minded approach and kick people out who are not pulling their weight. Thaty didn't do anything the entire time she was at SO. She uploaded her old products and that was pretty much the end of her activity.

Anonymous said...

Totally agree 51. I think one of the reasons that SO was so quiet was that Thaty and some of the other newer designers weren't doing anything. Bella Gypsy usually produces weekly but most of the other designers do releases every other week. Chelle, for example does a little something every week, but her big kit/collections are once or twice a month. It was very noticeable that some of the designers weren't putting stuff out. Sorry to see Thaty go, but she didn't do anything in the forums, there was no interaction with her and nothing new. Sorry to see that she had to move and had personal stuff come up. It is too bad that she didn't say something before. Traci Stroud, I think made an announcement to the effect that some personal stuff was happening so she was going to lay low for a bit, but she was coming back. That's cool. It's good to know she wasn't disappearing. As a customer, after hearing something like that, I'm inclined to go check out her store and see if there was anything in there that I might like so I could help her out with a little $$. Emily Card just had a baby, totally get that she's slowed down a bit. Also one of the BG girl's had a baby too.

Anonymous said...

^^ some do put out other stuff. Like Suzy Q and the template designers, but I mean BIG kits and such (btw i'm 52)

Anonymous said...

59- Wtf is a pirate from the baby gaga site?!

Anonymous said...

59 - how do you know these 2 are pirates? I am on CTs with these 2 I think I should let the designer know but I need more proof. If so, this is HORRIBLE!

Anonymous said...

48 -- Carrie1977 and CarolinaScrapper, and others ... let some others have a chance. I'm sure you aren't lacking in new content...
-----------------------------------
Honestly I don't even bother applying when I see people like these two apply (in a public call, or when they say they sent their app in). Isn't 20 teams enough?
And I seriously think that sometimes, designers don't actually look at the applicant galleries -- they just offer spots to those who are "well known"...they're on so many teams, they must be good...right?

Anonymous said...

54 - Wtf is a pirate from the baby gaga site?!
-----------------------------------------------
Baby Gaga is a parenting website (I Googled lol). And pirating, as in sharing kits. Search for "kit trade" or "swap kit" and you'll find a bunch of topics. They all look old though, which I guess is a good thing.
No idea if any of the posters are CarolinaScrapper or this Amanda chick though.

Anonymous said...

Here is who I would choose based upon who has applied already:

Milmomma
newfiemountiewife
catgoddess
Sherri Tierney
breakingbrie
aballen
hollyxann
joelsgirl
Lisa_mommy2Two
Starlight-Princess

I based my choices on # of teams and quality of scrapping along with a mix of styles. I wouldn't choose anyone who "freelances" for someone. If they can't commit to others now, why would I think they could commit to me as a designer? Stupid.

I also wouldn't choose anyone who has never CTed before. Guest spots are done for the extra promotion in short chunks. I want scrappers who know what that means without having to hand hold.

There were also a few who didn't fill out their apps completely, so I didn't consider them since KCB said she would consider them, either.

I don't know how many spots she's filling, but those would be the scrappers I'd choose from.

Anonymous said...

... said she wouldn't. typo!

Anonymous said...

but it's only for a 2 month spot. ???

Anonymous said...

I think 58 needs too do a little more research. For example hollyxann freelances for Libby over at Sweet Shoppe. I know this is I am on Libby's CT. I also have a feeling that you are either Laura or Traci.

Anonymous said...

Just curious, are any of you willing to share how you found this smack blog? I saw it mentioned in a thread at DST when all the drama was going down there a few months back. Other than that, I've never heard anyone talk about it. Kind of curious how well known it is and how many are really reading here.

Anonymous said...

#62 Me too!!

Anonymous said...

Am I the only one who buys something only when it's on sale?
Does anyone ever buy something at regular price?
And when I say sale I mean at least 30%
It's just I buy many things and want many more so the less money I spend the more digi products I get.

Anonymous said...

#62 it's the digiworld's dirty little secret! I think everyone reads here and no one ever talks about it!

Anonymous said...

If no one's talking about it how do people know about it?

Anonymous said...

I think people slip and admit they read here when there is something particularly juicy or personal.

Gennifer said...

Alright, I'll give it up.

I have a LOT of people tell me they read here... I'm safe, because you all already know that I'm around, and I won't judge. I would venture to say that at least 75% of the people I know in the industry have openly talked to me about what they read here, and I bet that there are more reading here who haven't discussed it with me.

I agree with 65.

Anonymous said...

55, I'm 50. Carolina Scrapper used to share kits under the name "Lola" on baby gaga. I don't think she does anymore...at least not publicly. Her gallery at Scrap Orchard has a lot of the siggies that she used on baby gaga that's how I know its the same person. I don't have a link to her profile right at this moment but I'll post it later when I'm available to search for it.

And Amanda Yi is a friend of CarolinaScrapper (Christine is her name). They're both on baby gaga. They both digiscrap. So I'm just ASSuming for her...you are who your friends are. You know?

Anonymous said...

Anonymous said...

#72 I agree it sucks I haven't been shopping at SO as much since they switched but it must be working for some because they seem to be sticking with it oh well there are lots of other stores out there that I think are more user friendly

And thus ladies and gents why you should not be putting anything up line. If you google "baby gaga" kit swap lol, the *soa* posts come up and you can tell that the original username was *lola*. I only spent about 2 minutes googling and reading, but going by the husband's name, kids, and town of residence:
a) it is her.
b) she was indeed swapping kits on baby gaga

Spot on #93.

Anonymous said...

#94- What thread? I didn't see her on Baby Gaga.

Anonymous said...

#93- For the simple fact noone found any proof she shared anything on Baby Gaga.

Anonymous said...

Aly's accounts on babygaga got deleted and banned so many times it's hard to trace her, but lots of those girls traded in other forums before there was a board for it on babygaga. The links for carolina scrapper are from 2010, do you have anything current? Just because someone WAS a pirate, doesn't mean they still ARE a pirate. Maybe she's on so many CT's because she found a legal way to get the kits she wants? I used to pirate music all the time and now with spotify and pandora I haven't had to do that in a few years. Or maybe she just didn't realize it was wrong? A lot of people who started out scrapping at Babygaga for the siggies just didn't understand why they couldn't trade kits.

AlyD said...

90 I love Attention. Why would I want people to forget about me? And I read here often. I haven't been bought up in a while so I've been pretty much forgotten until now! So thanks!!!

And 86, I am not a pirate. Never was. People that don't like me just made it up I guess with no proof. It's whatever now. I really don't care anymore what people think as I'm no longer a designer or directly involved with this community except on a customer basis.

But I know CarolinaScrapper & JessicaW are pirates because they were actively involved in a thread where I told them that sharing is a no no.
http://forum.baby-gaga.com/about1573551-130.html

As well as a girl named Cassie. So if they're on your CT beware! Notice how they erased all their posts? So they wont incriminate themselves but the damage is already done.

AlyD said...

97 You dont have to have a current account to find old posts. As long as I was quoted sharing, you will be able to find evidence of me doing so. Nothing has ever been found because it's not true. But obviously you are one of those people that think that I am the most horrible person in the world that everything bad said about me MUST be true so I'll let you keep thinking what you want. Like I said before, it doesn't matter to me anymore. Lol. I'm merely a customer and there isn't anything you can do about that...pirate or not. :)

96 I don't recall anyone looking for her sharing on baby gaga//they were looking for carolinascrapper but from what I remember, Amanda Yi is a member of baby gaga but she wasn't involved in the kit sharing in that thread. But I haven't been on baby gaga for a while so who knows. From experience I can tell you that just because you are a member there doesn't mean you're a pirate. But people will think whatever they want. :D

I'd rather sit here all day if I'm bored as fuck like now and argue than to ignore you anonymous bozos and let you think that I don't care.

------------

I don't know you from Adam, but I'm embarrassed for you. It's so obvious you do care what people say and think about you. To come on here, using your name and making a fool of yourself, is very brazen...and stupid.

Anonymous said...

105 why would I come back to talk about anything else but me?

-------

There's no doubt in my mind that even though you're obviously massively insecure, that you are your fave subject. Just remember, you're probably pretty alone in that thinking.

Anonymous said...

110 Don't feel embarrased for me. :) None of you will ever meet me or really know me. Thank God.

But like I said, there's a difference between caring and just being bored. Learn it. Until you do, I will agree with you to make you happy and say I care.......

I do care :( poor poor me

Anonymous said...

If you knew me...you'd know that I'm far from insecure. Lol. FAR. At most I'd say my life is pretty uneventful at this moment as I'm on bedrest for my pregnancy. But since you say I am insecure, I guess I am...

And I dare to be different. It gets boring thinking and being the same as everyone else. so I'm perfectly fine knowing that I'm alone in thinking a certain way.

How shocking!

Anonymous said...

No one cares if you're insecure. They just don't like you because you are caustic and full of venom.

Anonymous said...

115 - But she still got offered a position - what a joke.

Anonymous said...

115 - Thanks for changing the subject. All the Aly crap is BOOO-RING!

Anonymous said...

#119: She got offered a position? What's she doing there?

Anonymous said...

121 - She'll be a designer. Apparently they don't care who sells there anymore.

Anonymous said...

119 - But she still got offered a position - what a joke.
----------
And that is exactly the reason why I won't be accepting the position they offered me. I've been burned by her once already, I refuse to let it happen again. STS obviously doesn't know about who she really is...or they just don't care, which is sad.

Anonymous said...

Didn't everyone get offered a position in the STS contest though? Not just Charly?

Anonymous said...

How does anyone know who got offered a position if not yourself? Was there a public announcement for it? Or is Charly already in the designer list?

Anonymous said...

I posted what she had done in the past. It was deleted. They know, but they just.don't.care.

Who in their right mind would want to design there anyway? Commission from what I've heard is 60-65%.

If Picolla accepts, that would be tragic. She owns a store. Why would she want to design there?

Anonymous said...

125 - How does anyone know who got offered a position if not yourself? Was there a public announcement for it? Or is Charly already in the designer list?
-------------------
The email I received stated we were all being offered a spot. So much for a real "winner".

Anonymous said...

126 - Who in their right mind would want to design there anyway? Commission from what I've heard is 60-65%.
-----------
I didn't even open the contract, so I didn't know that. Makes taking the position that much easier.

Anonymous said...

I made decent money at STS, not tons or anything, but ok. I left because Nicole has zero ethics and she's unpleasant to work for. It doesn't surprise me at all that she'd take on Charly.

Anonymous said...

126 Picolina sold the store a while ago. Get your facts straight.

Anonymous said...

126 I really wish I knew who you were so I can avoid you. I have a feeling you are La Belle Vie.

Anonymous said...

126 Incorrect. You are really wrong on ALL your "facts".
Stuff To Scrap Commision
Exclusive – 80/20%
Non Exclusive (1 other venue and/or own store) – 75/25%
Guest (month by month basis) – 70/30%

Anonymous said...

Who would you rather design for? Stuff To Scrap or Scrap Take Out?
Serious Question Lol. I am just curious which one is worse.

Anonymous said...

#132 - Not the OP but she wasn't wrong about STS not caring, so not wrong on all the facts, n'est pas?

Anonymous said...

Who would you rather design for? Stuff To Scrap or Scrap Take Out?

----------

Serious answer, I don't know as I don't know either store except for being mentioned on here. Before then, I never heard of them.

Anonymous said...

STORE by a mile.

DYAC. That was supposed to be STO.

Anonymous said...

Definitely STO

Anonymous said...

126 I really wish I knew who you were so I can avoid you. I have a feeling you are La Belle Vie.
---------------------------------------------------
No, 126 is not me. I will say that 123, 127 & 128 are me, but 126 is not. As I said I didn't even open the contract, so I had no idea about commission lol

Anonymous said...

I am 119 and I knew she had been offered a position because I read it in the forum at STS.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
WTF is the point of having a contest if you're going to offer all finalists a spot? Some of those final round kits were shitty.

Frankly, if they're going to welcome her on board, they get what they deserve.

Anonymous said...

139 Either way I figured you were here. You were also the one that "dished" on PDP weren't you? You can't be trusted with information. Like I said, I will be doing everything to avoid you especially now that you have confessed to being La Belle Vie. It is quite obvious you have no problems dishing on anything and anyone. You should take the spot on Stuff To Scrap because you are going to have a hard time getting into stores now. Good Luck.

Anonymous said...

142 - No, I wasn't the one who "dished" on PDP...what was the dish anyway, that they weren't re-opening? Because that was public knowledge (STS forum) before it was brought up here.
Yes, I am here. Yes, I read and sometimes comment. Most designers/store owners do. I just choose to be honest about it. I haven't "dished" about anyone or anything. I haven't made any comments regarding anything that wasn't already stated here or anywhere else, to say otherwise is completely untrue.

Anonymous said...

STO has shitty products. Even when they're only $1 I can't find anything to buy.

Anonymous said...

They hold a contest because it gets them traffic, not because they are looking for new designers (all they have to do is go to DST or FB and offer positions to designers if that is what they want.

I am not at all surprised Nicole deleted a thread about what Charly was up to - she did the same with the Miss Tiina copyright stuff ... she got really huffy about it all being 'high school gossip'

I always thought gossip was the stuff that wasn't true that you said just to hurt people, not the stuff that is true that you tell people to warn them.

La Belle Vie - Why would any store want someone who can't come up with their own ideas?

http://scrapable.co/store/Keep-Your-Head-Up.html

Anonymous said...

I was going to say that a rainbow kit wasn't very groundbreaking, but the element placement and similar patterns are pretty similar.

Damn.

Anonymous said...

Yeah, the preview is too similar to be a coincidence.

Anonymous said...

Is anything really original these days though? I'd buy Megan's anyway...

Anonymous said...

Its not about being original. She downright copied

Anonymous said...

Yes but it's not copyrighted or anything. Megan doesn't own those colors or concepts. But it does look bad.

Anonymous said...

Holy crap. Usually when people post someone's "copy" I sit here thinking it could be a coincidence or that the people are stirring. But this time... it's like La Belle Vie went out of her way to make them look the same.

Anonymous said...

The similarity in those previews is disturbing, but that color palette has been pretty popular lately. At least if you're going to rip someone off, don't make the preview nearly identical...

Anonymous said...

If I had to choose between Stuff To Scrap or Scrap Take Out, I'd pick Scrap Take Out.

I do shop at STO and actually got a few overlays today that I liked and I like their 365 collection.

Anonymous said...

Didn't Megan's come out second?

Anonymous said...

#155 - um, no. Megan released her kit in August 2012 (and it was re-release) while La Belle Vie released her's in January 2013. Are you thinking of Megan's Little Miss Sunshine kit?

Anonymous said...

155 No it did not. I was on Megan's CT when her kit first came out and I haven't CTed in over a year.

Megan's Came out May 2012 originally.
http://www.designsbymeganturnidge.com/blog/?p=1486

La Belle Vie's Came out March 1, 2013 or January 3, 2013...not sure which way Scrapable does their dates.
http://scrapable.co/store/Keep-Your-Head-Up.html

Anonymous said...

154-I also shop at STO. I've loved some of the things I've gotten there. And everybody there has always been nice to me.

Anonymous said...

Holy cow 146 that is shocking! That she arranged her preview so closely to Megan's is the shocking part WOW brazen copying makes it very clear that she created the kit as a duplicate of Megan's. I would not buy from her if she priced it all at 25 cents.

Anonymous said...

I simply wouldn't buy it because the recolors are hideous

Anonymous said...

Oh wow. I had loved La Belle Vie's last kit in the Designer Darling contest. But that does look like a copy of Megan's kit.

Anonymous said...

Like I said La Belle Vie, go to Stuff to Scrap because no other store is going to want you.

Anonymous said...

Seriously? I don't think that they are that similar. Megan's is much prettier.

Anonymous said...

If you compare the placement of the elements on the two previews, they are creepily similar. Clouds in the same spot? Check. Sun? Check. Flowers, with leaves placed just so? Check.

Anonymous said...

163 You've got to be kiDding me.........

Anonymous said...

I've seen stuff like this before and here's what I don't get... do people like La Belle Vie think they aren't going to get caught blatantly copying like that?!?!?

Is there a legally filed copyright on Megan's kit? No. We all know it's too cost prohibitive for us to really pay to copyright our work. But, will something like this create a very bad reputation in like half a heartbeat? You BET it will, and it should.

La Belle Vie, did your mama forget to teach you that winners never cheat? I hope Scrap Orchard makes a big, dramatic, federal case of your blatant copying. You deserve it.

Anonymous said...

There is absolutely nothing illegal about copying. Bad taste? Maybe, but the idea of the original kit is hardly original.

There is nothing Scrap Orchard could, or should, do in this case.

It's fine to point her out here or anywhere else, because her actions are merely frowned upon. Nothing more.

Anonymous said...

There is absolutely nothing illegal about copying. Bad taste? Maybe, but the idea of the original kit is hardly original.

___

This.

Anonymous said...

163 it is not just a matter of both designers having a similar theme and colors and that both kits happened to look similar, clearly La Belle Vie created her kit as a copy of Megan's and even was brazen enough to copy the preview......... Now is it illegal? No. Is it unethical? Absolutely. Store owners should be very wary of being associated with her because as a customer I would steer a wide berth around any store she is selling in.

Anonymous said...

^^ Exactly.

Anonymous said...

Who said anything about illegal? No one.

Anonymous said...

Who said anything about illegal? No one.

__

No one said anyone said it was illegal.

Anonymous said...

No one said anyone said it was illegal.
-----

So why are there a bunch of posts talking about it? Seems odd to me.

Anonymous said...

How do we even know that that was la belle vie?
They didn't post from a named account. I bet it is actually a frenemy or someone carrying an axe

Anonymous said...

So why are there a bunch of posts talking about it? Seems odd to me.
-----

It seems odd to you that people are talking about someone who obviously copied a kit from someone else? Have you been reading here long? That's precisely the type of topic frequently posted here.

Anonymous said...

174 I'm the one that originally suspected her and I know for sure it was her responding. Its your choice to believe me or not. But I stand by what I say........I know its her. She can't be trusted. She seems to like drama. She copies kits. I'm avoiding her.

Anonymous said...

133- i would go to STO as well...everyone is nice and I like a couple of the designers stuffs there

Anonymous said...

157- holy hell! even the flower placements are the same!
that's bad form

Anonymous said...

Someone should go through the rest of her store and she if she copied any other kits. Does Bev know about this?

Anonymous said...

176 - Yeah but how do you know its actually her? Surely you must have a reason.

Anonymous said...

189 said:Store owners should be very wary of being associated with her because as a customer I would steer a wide berth around any store she is selling in.

I don't think many people shop at that store anymore, so it probably won't be noticed. Too bad because it used to be a nice place.

Anonymous said...

I looked at her other stuff and didn't see anything. One that looked like a Bella Gypsy color palette, a little, but nothing as blatant. That rainbow kit is easily the best thing in her shop and Megan's is still way better.

On the STO/STS thing, they're both dumpy shops, but STO looks nicer and Jen's never been unethical to me. Nicole on the other hand...

Anonymous said...

180 I do have a reason to think it is her.
I know you are probably going to hate but I chose to keep this reason to myself. But she made it pretty obvious to ME that it IS La Belle Vie. It is okay if you don't believe me but I know.

Anonymous said...

181 No offense to anyone but Bev is a horrible store owner. every Since Modern June left, the place has been a dump. Reminds me of her old store...Digiscrapbookmania....another trash store.

Anonymous said...

OMG. PDP is closing for good. Finally.

Anonymous said...

So no real reason 183. If you're so sure, it shouldn't be a problem to state why...unless it's bullshit.

Anonymous said...

Yeah, PDP is closing for good. And those of us who were stupid enough to still be subscribed to their newsletter were treated to a SPAM email today, advertising all the new ventures that Amy and Pamela are off to. Terribly tacky.

Anonymous said...

185- i had an email too.

Anonymous said...

It seems odd to you that people are talking about someone who obviously copied a kit from someone else?
-----

Um no, I was specially talking about the illegal posts, that's odd, it usually doesn't come up like that.

Anonymous said...

What store is PDP?

Anonymous said...

#190 - Polk Dot Plum - are you new here?

Anonymous said...

186 If you say so. You can't bully me into giving you a reason. I can't give a reason without revealing my identity. So like I said I'll keep it to myself. If you want to think its bullshit, so be it. :) You'll get over it.

Anonymous said...

Bev has her own issues with copying products from other designers.

I found this amazing wall decal a while ago (5 months) on Etsy but it was sold out.

http://media-cache-ec4.pinterest.com/736x/77/7e/8a/777e8a739771daa8a7d0b1c5c5bf55d2.jpg

A few days ago I bought this kit from Tracy Martin Designs. It has the same birds.

http://www.oscraps.com/shop/product.php?productid=33175&cat=632&page=2

Can someone tell me if I can blow up the digital images to that size and make them wall stickers? Will they be clear?

Anonymous said...

I want to know why it's so amazing? It's just a bunch of birds, easy enough to reproduce in Illustrator or Photoshop.

If you blow the birds up in the kit, they are going to look awful, mostly because they are shiny 'plastic' bird stickers instead of flat stickers.
